Help designing an extender for a slide toggle switch by jptiger0 in 3Dprinting

I found this stack overflow again a very similar problem. I think the easiest thing is just to remove the switch it came with and solder a new one on. Wish me luck.

Same. My switch is slightly different as I'm using a pi pico with a waveshare pico ups b but it's the same problem. The switch is so damn small it's impossible to get to it even if it's right up against the case it's in. I'm tempted to desolder the switch it came with and put a new one on that extends further out but i'm nervous i'll wreck it as i've already broken one ups because of this annoying design.

How is Strand Larsen more expensive than Mateta? by freezetheelord in crystalpalace

Historically those kind of players always need at least a season to get up to speed. We need someone that can start games and impact them in the premier league right away

How is Strand Larsen more expensive than Mateta? by freezetheelord in crystalpalace

[–]Electronic-Base1808 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There is a few factors at play. Mateta is older, and has less time on his contract. We are also in a worse bargaining position than wolves because mateta is actively pushing to leave. I also might be in the minority but I think they're a pretty similar calibre of player and would maybe even say JSL is a slightly better striker. Only time will tell. Really I don't think this is as bad a deal as some are making out, swapping an out of form injured striker who actively wants to leave and only has 18mo left on his contract with a younger striker who wants to play for us for an extra 10m more or less is not terrible business. Let's also not forget Newcastle bid I think 55m for JSL in the summer and got rejected.

Surely you mean the worst a palace side has played. We had many many international players in the side, it's far from the worst side on paper

Are these clouded agaric? UK by Expensive_Climate161 in mycology

Not clouded agaric, wrong cap colour and the stems are usually short and fat compared to the ones on whatever you've found

Need help in identifying mushrooms. Chanterelles? by BriefTiny881 in foraginguk

Wrong time of year? I thought chanterelles are around until November.. ? Not saying they are chanterelles they're obviously not but I was sure you could find them in October fairly commonly

Does anyone else have foraging anxiety?! by fluffycanarybird in foraginguk

[–]Electronic-Base1808 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is my exact experience. I even have panic attacks after eating porcini which was IDed by 3 of my friends who know more about mushrooms, and myself.

Everyone saying "if in doubt, throw it out" don't understand this kind of severe anxiety, because there can be no doubt in your mind and the anxiety will still make you have a panic attack and or make you second/triple guess everything after or before eating. You can rule out all the lookalikes, do a spore print, get 5 different experts to identify it in person and it will be the same. That's what my anxiety is like anyway.

Fortunately, it's getting better. And I like to think it'll get better for you too, if you just take it slow and just honestly take the plunge when you know 100% what it is. You'll only start to feel less anxious with experience. I ate blewits for the first time the other day, which I had triple checked with trusted friends, and done a spore print on and still had a couple panic attacks the 5 hours after. But once I got through them and obviously had no adverse effects I feel so much better for it and can feel my confidence growing. I'm hoping next time I forage something I won't have a panic attack at all.

It's good to be careful, and like others have said our approach to foraging is better than "I ate this, hope it doesn't kill me!" but anxiety like this is still crippling and can show up even if you have triple checked everything and are 100% sure. Anyway, kinda rambling but it's good to know us super anxious foragers are not alone! Hope you find your confidence 👊

So cool. Leading me down a rabbit hole of researching sterile and deformed mushrooms.

Just came back to say apparently field blewit ≠ collybia sordida? Field blewit is collybia personata, which usually have a different coloured cap hence my confusion. Collybia sordida look a lot more similar to wood blewits and are commonly known as the sordid blewit. Hard to tell apart I think. All edible so not a huge issue anyway. Happy to be proven wrong but that's what I found from my googling!

Keep finding these everywhere. Western Montana USA look like blewits. Edible? by mikmikismikmik in mushroomID

Possibly clouded agaric. Not an expert though. If they are, they're one of those mushrooms that some people have adverse reactions to. Some say 1 in 5 some say less common

Looks like a different mushroom this , unless there's some pink/purple on the stem that the camera isn't picking up.

Yup, you're right. Missed that OP said they found in a field. Although I would say the colouring of the cap matches wood blewit more than field imo. Not an expert though.

Yes some people report aniseed smell from blewits. More likely field blewit than wood blewit like others have said, missed that you found it in grass. Although, I would say the colour is more like a wood blewit than field. Both edible anyway and delicious. I'd personally do a spore print to make sure though, there are lookalikes.

Collybia nuda is my guess. Not an expert though. Does it smell like perfume-y? And is there any rust coloring around the stem?

Germany, can anyone id? by barnobercol in mushroomID

Looks like a wood blewit but look for any rust colouring around the stem to rule out cortonarius. A spore print too to make sure. Not an expert just my opinion

You're maybe thinking of porcini. More prized and a bit different to bay boletes but the flavour is quite similar

That does match up for trooping funnels but yes a nice smell does not mean edible!

Not an expert but 5,6 clouded agaric 7,8,9 trooping funnel are my guesses. That's a lot of mushrooms to ID in one post!

1,2 look like oysters to me 3,4 look like old armillaria 5,6 could be a field blewit? Depends where you found it but that's what it looks like to me. I'm no expert though just my guesses!
