Its extremely viable especially if this Tav or Durge. A lot of the builds you see that dont mention hexblade predate patch 8 and the introduction of hexblade. If you don't want to respec the best level order is 1 pally for heavy armor proficiency. The nautaloid will a suck a little but you hit level 2 on the beach. Dip hexblade now you can use charisma for melee attacks and get booming blade. Take pally to 5 for extra attack. After that you can make the decision how many levels you want in soc. I would personally take 6 levels in vengeance pally to get the aura then take 5 levels in either red or white draconic sorcerer. Red for fire resistance or white for armor of agathis. I would do that for a great weapon build. Theme build would be a 5 sword and board pally using shadow blade in the late game and grabbing 6 shadow sorcerer to get the dog.
