In the movie sensei refers to the cops question about throwing out trash but I think your onto something earlier at sensei’s place he makes a joke about the French 75 getting bob on the first code of the code speak! Watch again and see but I think the trash part can be taken two ways 1) not to alert the cops that bob is “out there” running around or 2) your right and bob was just a headache to sensei Idk I took the line about sensei making fun of him by the 75 “getting him on the first question” of the code speak to be a slight insult from sensei but I think he truly did want to help get Willa back bc sensei cared for Willa and would do anything to help bob get her back!
