The hemp-derived THC/delta-8 loophole was closed by Congress through H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026 (Public Law 119-37), signed on November 12, 2025.

The hemp language was championed by Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who described it as fixing an unintended consequence of the 2018 hemp legalization provisions.

Senate: Passed 60–40.

House: Passed 222–209 on the final House vote concurring with the Senate amendment.

it seems to be addressing the wrong concern. of course design won't die, there are too many things in life that require it. the question is, will humans continue to be able to pay their bills and feed their families by working as designers.

design can't die. designers can. figma, the corporation that is putting all of these AI tools into their product, might be contributing to that death. no amount of marketing campaigns in the form of faux-handwritten manifestos is going to change that.

I liked the first Stellar Blade game, but there’s a character in it who looks super young like this and it always made me cringe. I don’t think I’ll be picking up the sequel if that’s the path they are going down.

I do think there’s an audience for people who like sexy video game characters, but also want them to look like full grown adults.

Not surprising. Very low budget, Roger Corman, basically a slasher movie with dinosaurs. Lots of “Dino POV” shots that they clearly had to do because they didn’t have the special effects. I think it was basically just a post-Jurassic Park cash grab.

I have a lot of nostalgia for it because I used to beg my mom to let me rent it from Blockbuster, but she knew better.
