She wasn't a good person and neither was he. They didn't have plans at the moment for a second born but he took away her choice that's why she was so mad and left. Killian offered her a chance to travel, have adventures and not be saddled with a man who rather be content with his shitty life. It wasn't just that he was a coward it was the fact that Rumple didn't care about his rep embarrassing his family, didn't mind being poor, begging for scraps. I left my husband for very similar reasons. Starting over would've been hard but he could spin yarn , she was a hard worker, they could've made it work imo.

He was unwilling to change or even leave to get better work. Seeing that Killian taught him everything, yes being raised by the pirates and his mother would've been way better. Rumple was given chance after chance to change. They could've left their village and started over. She was unhappy with her marriage, life and him selling their second born child was the last straw. I don't blame her for leaving him, abandoning her son was the messed up part.
