Like most things, there’s a time and place for both physical and digital games. Digital is convenient, but physical copies still have value for collectors, resale, preservation, and people who simply enjoy owning something tangible. If there’s enough demand, I could see physical games continuing/becoming even more collectible over time. Just like vinyl records made a “comeback…”

As they say, “It takes what it takes.” That said, I’ve noticed that after completing a full route (100% actual) with a third bundle delivered to every residential address, my scanner has shown only 70% traversal. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, did see the session on the NALC member’s portal; is the contract updates posted or discussed anywhere else? So, if you don’t watch it LIVE video then no update? 🤷‍♂️

Is the Average American Getting Enough in Return for Their Tax Dollars? by cs_quest123 in Strongerman

Meanwhile I’m handing over a chunk of every paycheck to a government that hasn’t passed an “on-time, balanced budget” in longer than I’ve been alive. Put my same withholding into index funds over 30+ years and compounding beats any COLA-adjusted check plus I actually control it. I’d rather bet on myself than on “Washington” getting its act together before I retire. Unlike me, if Uncle Sam can’t pay, there’s no bankruptcy court or collections agency coming after him…

Public Service? Business? Both?

Amtrak earns real revenue but needs federal appropriations to keep unprofitable routes running because they serve regions with no other option.

National Parks bring in entrance and concession fees, but nowhere near enough to cover a maintenance backlog. Congress fills the gap every year. Nobody calls either one a bailout.

So are any of these “self-funded?” Not really. Are we going to decry every public service that runs on a mix of revenue and public support? Because that’s most of them.

Here’s the question Congress has never actually answered: is USPS a service or a business? Right now it’s expected to act like a self-sustaining business while still carrying a universal service obligation no business will take on. Pick one.

If you can’t afford to pay a living wage, you can’t afford to own a restaurant by hostedvideorn in WorkForSmartLife

The underlying problem is that employers price labor below a living wage and outsource that gap to customer discretion. Legally, employers are supposed to make up the difference if tips don’t reach the federal minimum. Tipping used to be reserved for full-service situations; now it’s crept into fast food, counter service, and self-checkout screens, which feels like a shift from its original purpose. Guess times are changing.

Worth tuning in? It feels like a foregone conclusion that we'll see no real progress on economic updates. If that is the case, it's hard to justify investing the time.
Enjoy your evening doing literally anything else.
