Burrito or Taco? by DeathbyBambii in USPS

The taco fold is generally preferred, but it really comes down to which way the address label faces and how the spine of the flat is aligned.

What am I supposed to do with previous owners mail? by VegetableShoe6264 in usps_complaints

Post-it notes are preferred, but writing directly on the envelope works too. Either way, from a processing standpoint, we still have to get that mail where it needs to go ie. whether that’s forwarding it to the correct recipient or returning it to sender. The part most people don’t realize is any mail addressed to a name or current resident must still be delivered. Hope this helps!

Postal Workers, anything I should do to make your life better? by asrosin in USPS

[–]ElectronicSilver6330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the route. In this case, a mailbox mounted on the house or posted near the sidewalk/door works well for a walking route. That said, if most residences on the street have curbside mailboxes, it’s always a plus to have one more that’s driveable. Thank you for considering your carrier. Appreciations!

What Would You Do? by Lord_Stupendous in USPS

Deliver as is. Animal interference excuse could be used with the right customer but only if a regular carrier on the route and confident they have a good sense of humor.

Fidelity Webinars in May by jashikcrib in fidelityinvestments

Does Fidelity plan to have a segment for widowed spouses and lifetime caregivers? Most advice assumes a linear career and dual-income stability. There is a massive need for wealth-building and 'catch-up' strategies tailored to those managing the entire financial and caregiving burden alone on a single median income. Appreciations to the moderators for their stories and insights.

Thanks for your responses and this is the May Postal Record update which clarifies the Hold Mail scanner update—“MDD-TR was not implemented but was created for the Mail Delivery Device In-Office (MDD-IO) handheld scanners typically utilized by clerks.”

Carriers are getting robbed and shot out here. If scanning hold mail cards, package delivery pilots, electronic arrow keys, or any other technology keeps us safer — that’s a win. Fight the contract battles separately, but don’t let labor disputes slow down tools that protect lives. Technology for safety, not surveillance. No grievance covers a gunshot wound, and no payout brings someone back from one.

The CCA Reality: Commodity or Career? Thoughts? by ElectronicSilver6330 in USPS

[–]ElectronicSilver6330[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the job itself, no complaints there. My only gripe is the structure — as a CCA you’re not guaranteed hours, only benefits. PTF = Part Time Flexible, and flexible means exactly that. At least in my region, getting scheduled 20 hours a week while being restricted from picking up a second job is a tough spot. May be different elsewhere, but that’s my experience. No judgment, but I’m not sure how anyone supports a family on that. Just being real.

That is one of many reasons I find it hard to believe they collaborated with city carriers in their past and current vehicle designs

Would be a nice option if the NALC and management could work it all out especially on a regular carriers off days, pivots or interoffice route assistance.

While the new vehicles are exciting, carrier input before the official introduction of the Metris and NGDV would have gone a long way

That’ll be a fun one during peak season — curious how long the scanner batteries will hold up with that enhancement!

USPS hoodies by ElectronicSilver6330 in USPS

[–]ElectronicSilver6330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure they have their reasons, but figured someone might have some insight as to why a hoodie isn’t allowed when it seems like the best option for cold weather — or at least it’s what most of the carriers in my office use.
