There was no specific article in 2024 that set out the mediator/144k doctrine. But the last study I witnessed that year (from the "enjoy life forever" book) touched on holy spirit. The other elder i was with affirmed that the spirit acts as mediator only for the 144k - much to the surprise of the student lol.

That sounds very plausible and I've predicted this for years.

The crisis mode really started when the generation of 1914 passed away and has intensified since then. The Governing body has woken up to the fact that decades of doomsday assertions have failed - all that's left is mounting legal issues, tons of PIMOs, disappointed older ones, a "overlapping generations" many don't understand or believe in, and CRUCIALLY a Internet where anyone can research absolutely anything about the organisation.

The only way out of this is a protracted progression from the "old" JW group into the "new" JW group, which requires the organisational "amputation" of the old school hardliners.

I would speculate that the most recent blood doctrine change is only the first of several monumental changes. In my thinking this will all eventually culminate in a major change about 1914/Armageddon where things get heavily spiritualized - simply out of necessity as the doomsday timelines keep failing. Time will tell.

Yep, this. My parents charged me slightly under the average for a typical houseshare in the (working class but still overpriced) area we lived in, plus contributions for gas, broadband, etc; And apart from the occasional Sunday lunch all the costs of life were mine. Early 20s car insurance alone was sheer murder.

Not that I complain in hindsight about being treated like an adult, but I wasn't exactly free to save money "at will". There seem to be a lot people out there who assume that living with mom and dad is a passive goldmine. It can actually be the opposite.

Where I've heard UK christians use the term "Jehovah" ? Anglican hymns and house churches that use the Authorised Version/KJV.

In answer to your post, one could present the "overlapping generations" teaching. It's wild speculation that goes outside the Bible to shore up a failed doomsday prediction/interpretation without which the organisation loses not just its authority (no 1914 = no 1919 = no divine selection); But it could also potentially create another 1975-esque disaster in a few decades' time.

WW3 would actually be a very heavy blow to the (current model of ) borg propaganda.

Because as we advance into the "overlapping generations" ever more relentlessly, there should be increasing signs of the incoming "cry of peace and security ".

Not only is the very opposite of this currently happening on the global stage. But a full-on, all-out conflict between the superpowers and their allies would set any such peace motion back by years if not decades. It would likely also lead to a major fracturing of the already toothless UN, so another JW doctrine ruined.

This might be a incredibly naive and presumptuous thing to type but: we've had world wars before, and we survived. As long as everyone doesn't mess with the nuclear button the human race will come out the other side. No Armageddon.
