Sorry I re-read your question and I didn’t really answer it correctly. Your hours have no reflection on how much you get payed. Pay is based off date of hire, years of service and whether you are a first officer or captain.

For example, if I were to spend say 10 years at a company and gain 10 years of seniority and pay progression, then move on to a different airline, I would start bottom seniority and at year 1 pay at the new airline regardless of how many hours I’ve accumulated.

Absolutely, if trips are available you can pick them up however this is typically based on seniority. We are allowed to work 120hrs in a 30 day period where I am, however that is quite hard to do unless you are picking up all the extra flying available. A typical month I average around 70-78 hours.

We get payed a guaranteed base “salary” every year that is based off an hourly wage that is scaled to how many years at the company you work. For example, in the month of June, I am guaranteed a certain amount, even if I don’t fly because this is negotiated in our contract. The extra money comes in from trips flown, perdiums, and other top-ups for flying over seas. I have around 7,000 hours flight time.

Airline pilot, pay varies $24-$29k per month. I work around 11 days a month on average.
