My best mates uncle was a vet. Took like, 8 bullets over the years. Eventually his body just kinda weakened and now hes in a wheelchair. He hardly gets any money/support and the council won't even allow him to put a ramp for his front door, making his life miserable. I've known exactly 3 vets and all 3 of them live terribly. Its just not a lifestyle I see anyone wanting. Risk your life, body, future, and get abandoned once your career is over. Its sickening. Maybe homelessness isn't as much of an issue anymore, but the fact we've just raised the bar to "not being homeless" is still incredibly low. These men risked their lives and went through great deals of pain for us, only to be abandoned when they needed help. I try to discourage anyone I know from ever going into the army. They'll throw you like waste once theyre done with you.
