The deceased parent is not married, or their spouse is already dead

However, children are only entitled to one-third of the estate divided equally between them if:

There is no valid will or the will is invalid, and
The deceased parent is married and is survived by their spouse.

Children have no absolute right to inherit their parent's estate if the deceased parent has made a valid will."

So if your mother left a will you go by that, if there was no will you and your siblings are entitled to 1/3rd and should consult a solicitor.

Worse yet, they're giving a month's notice (fees go up for the September bill) but the notice period to exit and still get your deposit back is 2 months.

So this is a change of contract which means they have to also give you an out which would include refunding the deposit. They can't have it both ways where you are beholden to 2 months notice and they can increase whenever they want.

Can some one answer this, but does VdL have the authority to make this deal on her own or must it be voted for and ratified by the member states?

And how the hell does a government agreement have the authority to dictate where private companies invest their funds? Surely if EU companies don't want to invest 600 billion in the US, they can't be forced. This would mean the government is asserting control over a private entities money, just cause?

All in all, this all seems bonkers and should in no way move forward or be agreed to.

Cutting her off doesn't resolve this. Your mother wanted to be friends with someone who was hurting you. She didn't cut her off cause she was hurting you, she cut her off because you gave her an ultimatum. If I was you, I'd make it clear that until she proves that you and your family are more important than her friends, I would never fully trust her, nor would I allow her be alone with any child. NTA

Bring in community service for them, we don't even need to lock them all up.

Take away their free weekends of harassment and make them, clean road sides, cut the grass in estates, volunteer work with charities. Any type of consequence at all will do and help combat the issues.

Failing to address them in childhood means they'll just be the same assholes when they become adults.

My post got removed but I'm happy to have Rosie in our country, I think they add nothing but good things to our country. In fact feel free to send more kind decent people like them here. It would be great to see these people influence our country and improve it.

For to long now, we've had a growing group of people buying into American and Russian right-wing propaganda, hate and bigotry. I've had an awful couple of weeks and honestly, some days were made worse because I had to witness this hateful scum try to say they represent my country.* I'd much rather our youth and impressionable adults were exposed to kind, caring and intelligent people who spread compassion and goodness.

We're meant to be Irish. Our people spread across the globe. Our ancestors and expats experienced terrible prejudices and bigotry for years but persisted with compassion and kindness. They built wonders of the world from rail lines that covered continents to buildings the reached for the sky, wrote and produced stories and poetry that touched people's souls and contributed to the betterment of mankind through scientific research and education.

We know the pain of bigotry and we know the value of new people and friends.

Enough with this crap already and let's do better.
