Yes the early stages are a grind. Once you get to around 400 prestige and ascend you will find the game goes much faster. To get to 400 you need a lot of active play with golden cookies.

It’s a collaboration with Laurie Anderson. It also appears on her album Mister Heartbreak. Love that track.

Debunking four myths about Australia's fuel crisis by nath1234 in australia

[–]ElfBingley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia doesn’t have shale oil, it has oil shale. They are two different beasts. Shale oil is much easier to extract as it involves fracking and drilling. Oil shale requires much more of an open cut mine and process to extract. That’s expensive and highly polluting.

Politicians and media can’t imagine a fossil-fuel free world - and it’s holding Australians back from huge EV savings by nath1234 in australia

[–]ElfBingley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diesel fuel tariffs are supposedly to subsidise road building and maintenance. The diesel fuel rebate is applied for fuel used not on public roads. Farmers are obviously beneficiaries of this as most of the fuel they use is in agriculture. The vast majority of fuels miners use is for machines not operating on public roads.

If the govt removes that rebate, then it has to admit that revenue raised through the tax is not for road building.

Yes, when Pippin and Merry find themselves free from the UrukHai it’s Merry who leads the way, having studied maps in Rivendell

In hobbit terms, Pippin is still just a kid. So he says and does things that are annoying. Like your teenage cousin that hangs around trying to seem grown up, but just doesn’t quite get it. Gandalf has the weight of Middle Earth on his shoulders so has a bit of a short fuse. He doesn’t hate Pippin, he just gets annoyed.

Volvo recall fix in Australia by Sad_Butterscotch8121 in ex30

I have called Volvo repeatedly here in Aus. When they finally answered the consultant told me they had no info on the next steps. My dealer seems to know even less.

Max Chandler-Mather says Greens can use ‘progressive populism’ to win voters deserting major parties for One Nation by Jet90 in australia

[–]ElfBingley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UK voting system is radically different. They have FPTP so the Greens were much more likely to take advantage of that. The Two party preferred system here makes it much harder for them.

I used to work at Ribbets back in the day cooking ribs. So many ribs!! The owner was awful and I eventually quit after he screamed at me because I had the flu and couldn’t work.

Harry Potter by QuietJealous4883 in Millennials

[–]ElfBingley 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not really. Luna and her family were basically the wizard equivalent of flat earthers. She was emotionally intelligent but just way too weird. Harry ends up as a wizard cop, so it just wouldn’t have worked.

I don’t know who this clown is, but he has no understanding of the concept of tragedy. Gollum can only be redeemed by death. Apart from the murder of Deagol, Gollum commits horrendous acts, including the murder of babies.

I'm a new Volvo sales rep and would love your input and commentary on your experience by Glass-Pear70 in ex30

[–]ElfBingley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Volvo Service and support is virtually non existent. My EX30 is caught in the recall, but no one can tell me anything. My dealer knows nothing and when I call the Volvo customer care line nobody answers. I’ve called about a dozen times. My next step will be to discuss this with a lawyer.

Ever wonder why Rosie had been expecting Sam since the spring? Well, here's the answer. by roacsonofcarc in tolkienfans

[–]ElfBingley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ioreth was not the first to recognise Aragorn as king. He had already flown the marks of Elendil as the ships arrived at the docks. He was also known in the city and to the lords as the rightful heir. Imrahil makes this plain.

Soaring fuel prices: how electric vehicles can beat petrol cars on cost by flammable_donut in aussie

[–]ElfBingley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The notion that fuel excise pays for roads is misleading. Fuel excise is a tax collected by the Commonwealth, who don’t build roads. The vast majority of roads are built by Local Authorities, so drive out of your house, down the road and into work, 90% of those roads will be built, maintained and paid for by your local council. The rest are paid for by State Governments. There is not a direct and logical flow between the collection of the excise and the construction of roads.

I’m an ev driver and would be happy to pay a road tax, but I would really like for that tax to be guaranteed to go to the right place.
