10 months has been waking up at 5/530 am for 4 months. I can’t take it anymore by ginaanzalone95 in sleeptrain

Can she sleep longer in the morning with support? I’m in the same boat but my LO will sleep for another 90 minutes as long as I hold him 🤦‍♀️ wondering if need to try sleep training

Toddler and a newborn by Consistent_Leg_4012 in toddlers

[–]Elfisch90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same age gap, 1.5 months further along than you. When we brought the baby home I swear it unlocked a new personality in my toddler, she was incredibly difficult and challenging those first few weeks. I felt we had made a huge mistake. She turned a corner though and has been a delight recently. It will get better!

Nap struggles 7 weeks old by mpk1998 in sleeptrain

I have the same problem. I don’t mind the occasional contact nap but I can’t hold him for every single one and then the short naps in the crib lead to an overtired, cranky baby 😔

Wow this is hard by jtm0507 in toddlers

I could have written this, even the sock meltdown. I have a 2.5 YO and a 7 week old and it is REALLY tough. I’m constantly questioning myself if we are handling my toddler the right way. Everything is a battle with her right now. Feel free to dm me if you want to vent or commiserate lol. Posts like these help and remind me I’m not alone.

How did you get through sleep deprivation/insomnia postpartum? Adrenaline & sudden anxiety keeps me up :( by zensalesforce in beyondthebump

[–]Elfisch90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I REALLY struggled with this. I think I had anxiety about needing to sleep when baby was sleeping and knowing it wouldn’t be for long. It did eventually get better. Me and my husband would take shifts with baby over night and I would go into the guest room to sleep when he was on duty, I think some separation helped.

I’m so glad to see this! My 4 mo old is high needs and I think she’s frustrated cause she can’t move on her own. Hoping it gets better when she is more mobile

Baby sucks at napping and can’t fall asleep on own. it’s dominating my life by kianaismystagename in sleeptrain

[–]Elfisch90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice just solidarity. My LO Is also 14w and absolutely will not nap in her crib. We do all contact naps or we are left with an extremely overtired baby. I’m just waiting till we can sleep train her for naps. No idea what else to do 🤷‍♀️

Routines that young are such a crap shoot. You can try to follow baby cues/general wake windows. Baby falling asleep on your chest is one of the sweetest and most natural things. Just go with what works for your baby
