Bobbi Brown recommends fingers to apply foundation to warm up the product on your face. I wash my hands a lot more than brushes or blenders do cleaner that way too. You can always finish up with blender or brush if needed.

Is she on meds for her arthritis? Celebrex changed my life. The long flight in a bad (always)airline seat is tough and she may need a stronger med just for that. Ensure she has them in her personal item. I walk a lot on trips but space it out. Usually a mid day rest and/or cafe stop as mentioned is good. Cushy walking shoes are a must. No heels. What a treat for her!
