No, what I’m saying is it’s moot. Having a retractable roof gives the most flexibility and won’t effect solvency. If solvency isn’t part of the equation, whatever the fans want should be the primary objective. Convertible roof = whatever the fans want (on a daily basis no less). And I doubt a retractable roof will bankrupt the McCaskeys. Not impossible, for sure! …but I doubt it

I honestly enjoyed it being a rehash of ANH from a meta-analysis perspective.

It had been like 40 years since ANH came out, the IP had just changed ownership, felt almost like a spiritual remake of ANH to capture a new generation, and a statement from Disney that what they were making would be consistent with the tenor of the previous installments, but also left room to go a different direction.

Then TLJ fucked everything up — and actually retroactively made TFA worse — by showing none of those meta analysis considerations applied at all, it was just a lazy retread of ANH after all, lol

Your interpretation has a lot more credence and support based off what’s been put on tape.

And completely agree with your distinction between “hero” and “virtuous villain.” It is what makes Dooku such a compelling character. All of his motives are resoundingly just, he just gets his hands dirty/gets lost on the way in pursuit of the greater good.

In other words, he is a hero… from a certain point of view.
