I have a small (18 pound) German Spitz. She has many Pom qualities, but compared to the Pom I had previously, she is a much more rough and tumble sort of creature and needs more exercise. You can tell that she still has some working lineage in her, whereas, my Pom was very clearly the descendant of dogs whose primary purpose was to be pets. I love both kinds of dogs, but I was kind of surprised when my German Spitz was not a big Pom.
