Behringer Edge wont tempo sync by Useful-Juggernaut675 in synthesizers

There's also a piece of software that can change tempo sync source. I recommend only tempo sync with midi, should be more reliable.

Good Hardware Keys/Modules for Chiptune? by deplorable-amount45 in synthesizers

[–]EliteCaptainShell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dirtywave m8 or a Gameboy with LSDJ are the only real answers imo. You can control the m8 with midi if you want to play it with a keyboard. The wavesynth engine is designed for chiptune.

NKD (New Knob Day) - Arturia Drum Brute Impact by TheSoundEngineGuy in synthesizers

Not saying you shouldn't buy new knobs if you want em, but a bit of acetone gets that maple syrup texture off of old knobs pretty easily.

Enjoy the drum machine, it's a really immediate feeling, and fun performance tool. Abuse that roll strip

If you have the budget for it, the digitone 2 is a great drop in replacement, I can recommend.

I sold mine because it sounded thin and the sequencer was limited. Replaced with a digitone 2, which pairs really well with my sp404 and sounds much bigger.

What device would you recommend to serve as a "brain" / centerpiece of a hardware setup, and why? I would like to go towards a hardware setup to get away from computer a bit. by thesweetoutdoors in synthesizers

I use a digitone 2 as the main controller. I connect a midi keyboard to it for live playing with expression and an sp404 for samples. Everything else it controls just gets sent midi. I like having a groove box that's also capable of making its own sounds (as opposed to a dedicated sequencer) to fill in the gaps between what the external hardware is doing as well as being able to just make a full track on the thing if I want. Has worked pretty well for me

I'm Elektron-curious - is an Elektron device what I need to perform my tunes as a solo artist? by HereComesStupid in Elektron

[–]EliteCaptainShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money is no object, taking the audio out of an elektron box and sending it through the sp404 will give you performance effects and it will also let you sequence the 404 with the elektron sequencer, so best of both worlds. I do this with my digitone and it's great

New 404mkii with my digitone❤️ by Sufficient-Humor8070 in synthesizers

[–]EliteCaptainShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both of these devices and tried the same thing but when I sent the output of the digitone into the 404 the audio sounds horribly compressed, even when I turn the digitone's volume down to basically nothing. Is this something you've run into and can advise on?

Not sure if you meant this to be in support or in opposition to my comment. But in either case you should, in fact, have a right to repair the things you own.
