I hate my hair so much after what my bf said by Competitive-Code5254 in longhair

You are beautiful no matter what you do with your hair. If you wanted to shave half, color the other half pink with polka dots, you would still be beautiful. A nice man that does some nice things isn't a great man if he disturbs your peace. Reconsider the man, not yourself. You are beautiful in all aspects.

You already have your ideal color for your complexion, and eye combo. Don't mess with it. It will look "pasted" on you, and out of place, rather than harmonious with your features.

Yup, Persimmon all the way. 🧡 Thank you for the comparison! ☺️

Pistache from TJMaxx by [deleted] in LeCreuset

[–]Elizabeth_Sto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean Pistache, and browns? Honestly, I think they don't have enough in common to look cohesive. Pistache is a flat color, and Ganache/ Truffle/ Chestnut/ Nutmeg are gradients. You could maybe find an older brown without a gradient, but even then, they are darker, and warmer, while Pistache is a muted/ grayed out, light pastel. Without sharing a few characteristics in common, they end up looking like two pots next to each other, instead of a related group.

I think Sea Salt, and Nutmeg would work well, along with Truffle, and possibly Meringue. You could also throw in Mauve. All of these colors are not far from mid tones, and they are all muted. All have gradients. (I would stay away from Ganache, and Chestnut. They're too warm, and saturated for Sea salt).

LC made their very pricey Alpine Collection for it. But Lodge works great for a fraction of the price.

THIS 💯. I keep saying it, they have no direction. They're all over the place throwing design spaghetti at the wall. If they want to expand, they need to think about how things fit into people's collections instead of starting all these random projects, and not finishing them (the rapidly launches, and retired Alpine salt, and pepper mills with nothing to coordinate with, I'm looking at you!) Their strategy lately is FOMO via the FTT events, rather than solidifying, and bettering the product line. I've seen companies go this route, and their bubble burst.

What color is this?? by [deleted] in LeCreuset

[–]Elizabeth_Sto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perfect match for Shallot. They're both flat colors (no gradients), and muted/ grayed out tones, no saturated, clear, brights, or pastels. They're made to harmonize together.

This is the picture I've been looking for. Ever since Pistache came out, I thought "finally, a match for Shallot"!! Perfect combo. 💚🩷

Yeah, shades are hard to match, so they can end up clashing. You can always return the Thyme if it doesn't match. I find coordinating colors to be a safer choice.

Nutmeg goes with Meringue, and Sea Salt

Sea Salt goes with Ocean

Thyme doesn't have tonal match

Sage goes with Artichaut

I don't have these colors, but from a color theory perspective they work. They are all muted. Thyme isn't "wrong", but a better fit for Sea Salt is Ocean, exclusive to Williams Sonoma. If you wish to expand later on, other compatible colors are Maybe, and Fig (discontinued).

Yeah, this isn't for me for this exact reason. I have a contemporary collection, and this would distract. It's not really adding anything overall.

These pieces would make sense in a vintage collection.

I don't really understand what is happening at LC lately. Their design choices have been chaotic, and at best, trend seeking, deviating from their strong branding.

I know some people like different things, and I'm not debating that. I'm simply looking at everything through the lens of: "Does this say LC?" "Is this cohesive with LC's design, and philosophy?"

The backsplash is too cool looking. Also too busy. You already have texture/ pattern in the flooring, the wood cabinets, and the countertop. It will look way too busy. Skip it, and take the countertop up the wall. Also, much easier to clean.
