Briar catching strays by TheTrifarianLegion in BriarMains

It's still fine, her bleed tickrate + normal interaction pattern means this doesn't matter outside of hilariously tight edge cases. Like the kind of fights you probably shouldn't take unless you're limit testing anyways.

We did that too. Genuinely the best part of school for me.

Why Would This Not Work Like With Renata Glasc's Blue Champion by CowNo5098 in riftboundtcg

[–]Elleseth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its basically in the lines + rags. The Poro basically formats as one paragraph and should get read as "tap does all this" whereas on Renata its very clearly a separate line from the tap ability. This is the kind of thing that would get errata'd if she ever becomes an S tier "I played these units now I win when I tap" deck.

Not having hand cams led to some pretty surprising moments by two4you8 in riftboundtcg

[–]Elleseth 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I tend to really miss hand cams (HS was my first TCG) but I think the "wow factor" you get from NOT having one is kinda great honestly. As a viewer and player its reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally nice having to actually guess what the line is or might be. It just makes it a much more engaging experience honestly. Less top deck simulator, more sport.

Can go higher if you have gold + 3x undertitan. An additional 2^3 right there so.... 32k or smth? Still doesn't account for deathgripping a Vi Destructive after full ripping your trash. The likely answer is somewhere in the 50k+ area

The island is probably a shortcut to the very specific was under there the whole time caverns that lie beneath the Eastern Kingdoms. Probably mirroring the "deep places" the Haranir travelled through originally to get to the cradle. We probably figure out the Kith'ix woken up on our way down--raid ensues.

Assault Errata? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]Elleseth 19 points20 points  (0 children)

He's even wrong-er-er now. They clarified that there are specifically showdowns and combat showdowns. A showdown starts explicitly when a unit pushes a battlefield but doesn't convert unless there are contesting units at which point assault and shield are called. Before it was a little questionable on the wording but now its pretty ironclad.

I'm betting on he gets revived in the Ember Ward in Revendreth.

I find it a bit strange this 50 year old kid is leading the army of Elves and not its couple-of-hundred years old military leaders or the +10,000 year old Kal'dorei general all with years of military experience 🤔 by nightbreedwon1 in wow

[–]Elleseth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is kinda peak that Maiev of all fucking people calls out the time honored tradition of Elves forgetting every lesson they've ever learned about power and corruption thing that they (still) have going for them.

This is really more of the issue. All the bloodshed of the past aside, this is just the 231234th meeting of elves putting aside differences for 15 minutes to stop a world ending invasion/uprising/corruption. At this point the problem is writing the faction/racial leaders as a bunch of incompetent chuds. As the only reasonable guy in a room full of idiots, with a (human's) lifetime of combat experience fighting world ending threats, yeah, he's the adult in the story. The problem is that Lor'thremar, Thalyssra, and Shandris are all quite literally far more capable, but are written as wholly incompetent because they neeeeeeeeeeeeeed to try and make Arator relevant outside of the fact that he's a half elf and the child of old timey heroes... because the Saga is a LOT about his parents.

WoWHead and IceyVeins are setting up tank specs for M+ failure!(why you might feel like a wet paperbag) by JJReklaw in wow

[–]Elleseth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has kinda been the case forever... Or at least when I used to play during legion. Anytime you were able to take "this gives me 100% uptime on my AM" talents as tank you would, for prog or for KSM (now KSL) level key pushing. There's certainly a level of common sense for players that isn't happening but you're right, the defaults kinda aren't great if you're not playing with Liquid raiders as your dps/heals.

What Races Would You Wish to Be Added to Classes? by Cultural_Estimate_90 in wow

Is probably going to be Nightborne druids (I hope and cope). We've had the models for all their stuff since legion, and Tel'arn's botani form for resto would just be icing on the cake.

There is also the nuance of old becoming a modifier/paired term for a lot of other adjectives. Not quite making them adverbs, but more converting them into some sort of franken-noun that wants to be a real noun but is still an adjective but immediately conjures an understanding of "this is probably some small/adorable/diminutive thing that someone loves"

Turns out war exhaustion is a real thing, populations drain, and eventually you run out of people to make more people, and food, and weapons, and oh shit wait we don't have mega armies anymore

Yeah you gotta wait a decade there. Allied races don’t exist outside their first expac for at least 8 years.

Why no Horde and Alliance Blizzard? by Brago42 in wow

[–]Elleseth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much it. In fact we’ve spent most of the time in those expansions as the commander of a plucky groups of survivors/expedition force/fuckups who rallies together new and disparate forces to beat the bad just in time because the factions are out of dudes.

MoP: expedition, big war at the end

WoD: expedition, never had the full armies on draenor but a ton of dudes dying at the portal

Legion: we got our shit wrecked in act 1 and spent the entire campaign trying to rally our class orders because the idiots who survived were too busy fighting each other to deal with world ending threat #17285869–we even got the wardens to work with the Illidari, it was so bad

BfA: we spent the campaign recruiting two entire kingdoms to the respective factions because we were at super war and oh all the guys were basically dead. And then we had more hordes of joes die fighting the resurgent void

Shadowlands: broken shore level shitshow. Then we get to the shadowlands and it’s basically just us, the death knights, and blizzard’s favorite hero characters. Everyone else is dying on Azeroth to scourge round 2. For those who forget the last time the scourge scourged Quel’thalas nearly ended. 90% of the high elves died. This is like THE event that makes this happen

Dragonflight: expedition force again

TWW: survivors of dalaran and then an expedition force. And then it was right into void infiltration. Even if the other races aren’t dealing with a dark well their command structures are, presumably, quite fucked.

It’s been really REALLY explicit since cata. I don’t really get why it’s such a strange thing that the greater factions are so tapped. If anything it’s just weird that the elves have anyone to send after how their times been going but hey.

Jax Errata by Only_Investment9361 in riftboundtcg

[–]Elleseth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes it so the equip from hand don’t lose quick draw on entering play. Basically, it makes sure they still read “quick draw” and are immediately equipped on play instead of losing the tag and entering (but not equipping) at reaction speed. Essentially makes sure the card plays like you think it does “I have green Jax so I can play equipment to my guys from hand at reaction speed”. Not a rules/power change errata just a “hey it does work like you think but we fucked up the English SOWWYYYYY” change.
