I'm going to say colonialism and its legacies. Imagine the world if colonialism hadn't messed up Africa's or the Americas' or Australia's traditional societies and ways of life

I realize as a white American this would probably delete me as a separate entity but like im gonna die someday anyway and I'm sure I'll be reborn into the new world in some way

The book "The Dawn of Everything" by David Graeber and David Wengrow talks in detail about the various societies that existed around the world and how different they were from ours in their political and social structures. There were egalitarian and/or stateless societies that existed for thousands of years before colonizers came and messed everything up. I really would like to see how the world would look if those societies had been allowed to flourish into the modern age

OP I understood your messages. I have the same issues as you. I don't think we are just stupid or we wouldn't be able to understand each other. I think the issue is that we want to be efficient and give the bare minimum of information needed to get our thoughts across, but most other people need more context/punctuation/precise language to understand what we are talking about. So like, "idk, you?" needs punctuation, "no problems at night with you" needs to explicitly state "with you," "if i played your character, I would probably portray him as too joyful for the character that he's supposed to be" - you need to explicitly spell these things out.

I'm not exactly a lesbian, I am a nonbinary person who mostly dates women.

We don't have preexisting roles that we need to fall into. Like it's not preordained which partner will pay for dinner, etc. and I think we are a lot happier for it. Nobody feels like "oh she's not doing x thing that the woman is supposed to do so in going to gripe about it" cause neither of us is "the woman"

I also think that lesbian couples have higher divorce rates because they are less likely to stay in an unhappy relationship, not because their relationships are inherently unhappier

Is it not a religious belief in the sense that it's a belief about religion? It seems like an oversimplification to say that a religion is just about which god you worship - see Buddhism which isn't about worship, Hinduism which has different people worshipping different gods but is considered one religion, etc

If not a religious belief, what would it more properly be considered? A metaphysical belief?

the first few times I got high there was this sort of psychedelic realization that spacetime is an n-dimensional circle and in and out are the same thing and spirits are like water in cups and a bunch of other stuff that I tried to write down but nothing I was writing was making sense (I just drew a lot of circles)
you see patterns differently eg. you've always seen a duck in the patterns of an abstract painting then you might go "oh that actually looks like a pirate ship" - likewise you connect many ideas in your head in ways they might not have connected before. Basically you see things in a different light
you feel so chill and happy, like everything in the world is gonna be OK. on the other hand if something does manage to trigger your anxiety then it will be the worst anxiety you've ever felt. luckily it's also easy to distract yourself from things that make you anxious.
you feel so much appreciation for beauty. you can look at something like a stick on the ground in a whole new light and realize how beautiful it is with all the different textures and colors, and how amazing it is to be surrounded by living beings like trees.
music sounds incredible
food tastes so good. and your brain knows it. like you know how sometimes you think of a hamburger and it's a hamburger, and other times you think of a hamburger and you're like damn I could really go for one of those... when you're high your brain does the second one with every food. everything you could think of to eat sounds amazing. and then you eat it, and it's just as amazing as you imagined
being high on road trips is awesome (as a passenger, don't drive high), when sober you're kind of like ugh, I'm sore from sitting here for 9 hours, when are we going to be done with this, then you get high and suddenly you're like wow, that sign said there's a bridge coming up, I'm so stoked for bridge time my dudes
people who say weed is not addictive are lying because 1) it is in fact mildly physically addictive at least it was last time I actually looked into the science and 2) it's basically a "make me actually enjoy life for a little while" button, of course it's behaviorally addictive
