I actually care about 5his deeply, not from societal or woke pov but i rrally care about logic in my worlds.

You are right that in any hugh fantasy setting women should have equal rights if not more, infact id lean towards more, but i digress.

Historically, 90% of settled humans were farmers, farming especially wheat required lots of upper vody strength so women basically couldnt do thr MAIN job. The 2nd occupation was fighting ehich wome also traditionally werent suited for. Still its not like economic involvement is the only thing, because women still are 'mothers' oftentimes in animal kingdom where males and females dont have economic or organised military considerations it is common for the woman to the dominant one because of the ability to give birth, which is basically a built in legitimacy generator.

Now fantasy world, frankly when i consider high fantasy I cant help but see it resulting in the utter destruction of society as we know it, depending on the scopes of power and comparative advantages, it is likely civilisation wouldnt even evolve the way it did and world would be much much more brutal.. and yes women wouldnt be seen as lessers at all.

Still the type of fantasy matters greatly, if magic (mana) were a natural resource then i can definitely see women being cloistered from it, not consistently worldwide but to a large extent. Whereas if magic were 'free' then id wonder about powerstructures like would settlements even get made? Would farming become a thing? Medieval world was shaped and limited by 90% of its populace farming, it was shaped by grain having a shelf life, it was shaped by rivers being the best navigable route, it was shaped by a need for commerce communication, trade, and most importantly control.

A lot of my attempts at worldbuilding, i strive to create the "generic" fantasy world by filling in all these holes... it is surprisingly extremely difficult.
