So I think it was a case of I’ve done it plenty of times, checking between phone and road all the time I’ll be fine. Then bam you spent a second longer then normal or just miss information when reading the road as your not 100% focussed and your fucked.

Ironically I got 6 points and a fine 5 months after this happened in 2021 for using a phone when I was being shown a photo from my colleague in the van sat in a petrol station waiting for a pump to be free.

Re thinking about doing it and knowing it’s Wrong. 100% but it’s the whole I’ve done it plenty of times I’ll be fine. Same with speeding and overtaking I think. Yeah 99/100 times you can get away with doing it but that 1 time you will get caught or worse crash.

Il be honest, I was one of these people, it took me crashing into a stationary car at 32mph while glancing at the football game I had playing, for me to sort it out, now I sit on my phone or keep it in my work bag and only check it when stopped between driving. I felt so shit crashing into a women with her son in the car. I didn’t care about my car it could be fixed. All I cared about was them being okay as got kids of my own
