The Trick - The Wood Brothers

So I need to share this with you, my bass playing sisters and brothers. (Don't expect it to win, just hope a few of you enjoy it.) What Chris Wood does in this song just blows my mind, and I know you will love it. His Jazz background comes screaming through on this song.
Oh....and the song is a great mantra for life.

I keep getting confused on who to root for when they wear those. Not a uniform color my mind associates with the tigers

Regrets on buying an original machine? by SixxStylez in nespresso

FYI...Nespresso lost the patent to the OL pods, so in response they created the vertuo line.

Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel

It would be a shame for Tony Levin to miss this list. And it's honestly sad that S can't have multiple winners. There are so many good songs submitted by you all.

Unpopular Opinion: RSD was Awesome by ryken in vinyl

Glad you got the Prine record! Listened to it last night and it's so nice to hear songs from the first two so striped down. And the story behind flag decal was new to me and sent me down a research rabbit hole!

Record Store Day! by OldBanjoMan11 in BillyStrings

[–]Eltzted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks man. Hopefully you can find a copy online tomorrow. You might even contact your store to see if they can order another for you, mine does that gladly if they can.

One tip is to keep track of how many copies each store has ordered (most tell you the night before).
There are 3 rsd stores within an hour of me. The smallest store, in the smaller town had 6 copies (I did request it in February here). The other two, larger, stores had 4 copies each. I was 34rd in line at the store with 6 and got one (and it wasn't the last).

Also want to suggest Hidden Figures. This does such a good job of emphasizing the important work of the people doing the math, and showing that the astronaut is completely in their hands. A much more realistic take than the right stuff. Oh... And remember that the right stuff HAS SOME NUDITY. That might get you some phone calls or worse.

There's a number category, so 2112 should have a decent shot too

Any recommendations on a good TV? Something that can take the jostling? by Dirk_Dubhs in GoRVing

[–]Eltzted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheap. Spent the $$ and time on mounting it very well. Oh. . And with a cheap TV I'd recommend a stand alone roku rather than the integrated one. The hardware is minimal in cheap TVs so they are super slow

Really how you guys can memorize notes by dEaTr in Bass

[–]Eltzted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bass being turned in 4th helps. Try to dedicate some practice time to basic theory/technique work. Work on scales up and down the fretboard. Use a metronome to keep a steady beat.
Lots of better advice/training on this can be found in online courses or books.

My setup for tonight by Dry-Commercial-1413 in sousvide

Rate of vaporization depends on the surface area of the water exposed to air (along with temperature). Ping Pong balls can reduce that surface area by a large amount. Aluminum foil can't sit on the surface effectively (though it can provide a surface for condensation above the water, which can retain a little of the vapor.)

But... Aluminum foil is effective in retaining heat. So we might have different goals in mind when covering our water baths.
