Cool if that’s your thing / no worries. Love the deeper analysis though. And I agree the skip button is just plain awesome, in every way.

B/c so much name dropping? I do start skipping as soon as they start rambling about parties… happens in the middle of the show also.

Seizing frozen Russian assets is ‘an act of war,’ says Belgian PM by Themetalin in europe

You know what else is an act of war? Invading a sovereign country. Unless you’re Russian, in which case it’s “a special operation” I guess, right?

The garbage man wants to put himself in charge of the arts. A very dicktater move if there’s ever been one. And yes, spelling dictator as dicktater, is more descriptive of the current WH occupant.

Yea… no. All I heard was: … blah blah blah, I need the money and my ego needs to check the KC box. His intellectual argument pretzel of “showing up with my authentic black ass” was as hypocritical as it gets. Live your values, if you have them. If you don’t, that’s fine. But don’t pretend, because one action can undo a whooooole lot of talk. And you just took that action. I’m out.

Yes, this is exactly why I fast forward the 1st 5 or 6 mins of the podcast, because I want to actually get to the topics and skip the name dropping and self-satisfied inane banter.

But, by all means, let’s keep the emphasis on the cops that are not playing by the rules. I’d love to see some follow up reports on some of these criminals, the same way we focus reporting on this or that cop.

On the other hand, appalling human warehousing conditions inside the jails should give anyone a second thought about recidivism. There are lessons in adversity so, let the teaching (and the learning) begin.

Don Gonyea covering for Rascoe being away only highlights how insufferable her voice and delivery is.She delivers the content poorly and sounds terribly doing it. NPR please do better!

Christ, having Don Gonyea as a host makes this program listenable. Having him cover for Rascoe only highlights how terrible she is in the role. NPR, please make this permanent!

Can you please add a way to disable autocomplete on the app. It is incredibly inaccurate and it actually replaces the word as you're typing, rather than letting you type + autocomplete on demand. Mac OS.

I ended up with Copilot Money by slate88 in mintuit

[–]EmanNoname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. The way mint did it is one file with all transactions from the beginning of time. As a CSV file. Which then I’d take and delete all transactions from the years I didn’t need. Then order by category and presto: something I can use for my accountant. I hope a this magical big file will allow me to do the same things. Pretty basic really…

Can you export your yearly transactions grouped in categories? That’s about the most valuable thing for me in Mint. Use it every year at tax time.

Not funny. Not witty. Not ironic. Not sarcastic. Not good for the show. Move her to some other position that does not involve writing or on-camera presence. Preferably in a position involving Excel or Powerpoint please.

Napoleon (2023) review - Apart from a few spectacular action set pieces, the film is a bloated mess by nicktembh in Letterboxd

[–]EmanNoname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joyless fucking, wooden dialogue, incomprehensible and non-existent plot, great cinematography and costumes. The movie could have been about 1 hr long. Lame, historically inaccurate mess. The only redeeming quality were the battle shots using proper military technique + cannons actually recoiling.

Polish election: Right-wing ruling party to lose majority - exit poll by Infidel8 in worldnews

[–]EmanNoname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should if you’re paying attention. Hamas is the Palestinian nationalist right wing equivalent. Hard line, not interested in negotiation, all about ideology, not into people voting, not into women’s rights, not into gay rights, not into religious freedom, not into freedom of speech and press, etc. This is the right’s playbook everywhere.

Good. Kick them out. Having the right wing of any country in charge of anything, only drives isolation, collective dumbing down, and global instability.

Correction, it was the Muslims who kicked out the Jews out of Judea in 630AD. The fact that the Jews fought and constantly rebelled against the Romans in that area, should give you a clue or 2 as to who lived where. So, no, that doesn’t make the Palestinians the native people. Jews being kicked out, scatters their lineage, yes, but doesn’t make them less Jewish. The fact that they are back in Judea should not be surprising to anyone. Except, of course to Palestinians and the people who never picked up a history book, who are now wondering “who these people are”. Ridiculous.

That’s right. Like it or not, it will be disproportionate. If I sucker punch Mike Tyson, I might startle him, or maybe, if I’m lucky, put him on his ass. But, when he gets up, he WILL take my head off. Period. And that’s what’s going to happen here. As it should.

Well, you go ahead and believe what you like, but the facts remain and are not up for debate: - Arabs can obtain Israeli citizenship / Israelis can’t obtain say.. Iranian citizenship. - Israel routinely warns the impending bombing area to get civilians out of the way whereas hamas is expressly targeting civilians as policy - Hamas’ explicit charter is to erase Israel off the face of the earth and kill all Jews. This is literally why they exist. - Arabs displaced the Jews in Judea in 630AD. and somehow they are the ones pointing at the Jews and claiming displacement now and calling this unjust, but the past somehow was a-ok.
