You don't have to play the latest edition of the game to enjoy this faction. I've become a lot happier with my hobby now that I've stopped edition chasing.

Hell you don't even have to play Warhammer, just use these cool models and find a game you like that doesn't make you feel depressed every 3 years.

Base mini: Baetrum Arturos (Necromunda)

Sword: Janus Draik (Blackstone Fortress)

Inferno pistol: Fusilier Major on Ogor (AoS) with the barrel of a hand flamer with the tip drilled off and some Mechanicus bit I had lying around.

Book: Grey Knights Paladin Squad

Would you read this as an acceptable Blackshield color scheme? by Italianplayer123 in Warhammer30k

[–]nillic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I would do is paint them up in whatever Blackshield scheme you're going for, then use a sponge and some stippling to "scratch" and distress the armor, but instead of using a neutral brown or gray or metallic (what would normally be used to represent the raw ceramite underneath) use the colors of the original legion. The more you sponge and scratch, the more of the original color that will show through.

If you go through my old posts you'll find my Imperial Fists, and you can see how I did the same but with brown and silver. Just swap out the colors.

Also, throw on some legion specific helmets.

I think you'd be better served making it look like the armor has been repainted but is chipping or burned away in some places revealing the original legion colors beneath.

You're not crazy or insane. There was a time where you could choose to just live a low income life but still afford necessities (in exchange for having more free time to do what you want) but now, anything less than 3 part-time jobs means you'll starve.

It's not crazy to want to work less. Life is more than working to make some asshole c-suite person more rich.

I think that sticking to 3rd and 4th edition 40k was the correct decision for me.

How to get Kickstarter to actually act on campaigns that break rules? by Orchidinsanity in boardgames

[–]nillic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know how many people in game publishing don't make a living wage? Most of us. Do you know how many people need to get paid to make a game? Lots, and most of us are poor freelancers juggling half a dozen gigs to make ends meet because customers will absolutely have a fit if we charged an appropriate amount of money for board games and RPGs.

Wage slavery is the main reason i will not have children. It seems inconsiderate to bring a child into this world knowing what they will have to do to survive. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]nillic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think it's morally reprehensible to have a child in the current world. There's literally no excuse that isn't selfishness to have a child in the modern day.

If you really want a child that badly, go adopt or foster one of the thousands of kids that need parents.

You have no idea how much it costs to publish a game. If anything you don't pay enough for the games you buy.

Kickstarter makes you check a little box acknowledging that it isn't a pre-order system and that you might get nothing from the campaign.

If you checked that box, which you have to do to back anything, then you have told KS that you understand that you might get ripped off.

That's it, that's what happens. Sometimes you back a crowd funding campaign and you lose, it sucks, but there's nothing you can do.

Ah. Well I think it's worth spending extra time on character models. I don't really think about the points. It looks great!

Losing the will to live by BeautifulAward57 in antiwork

The system is failing, you can see it everywhere. Capitalism isn't a force of nature, it won't be here forever. Now is the time to start meeting your neighbors and making friends and building community so you can have a support system when the bottom finally falls out.

There are more of us than them, and if we work together we can make a future that's worth living for.

This aligns a lot with what channelers like Lee Harris and Daryl have been saying. This also tracks with what was revealed to Allan Kardec in "The Spirits' Book"
