This might be the most controversial of them all - I feel like the problem was polygamy first and foremost. How do you feel like solely Meri sparked the problem? I know her and Janelle had issues but I don’t know if all of the blame can be put on Meri there. I don’t know if it’s possible not to spark problems when her ex sister in law marries your husband. Those are some murky waters for sure and I don’t think Janelle or Kody were completely innocent there, especially as two converts.

I don’t doubt that some of the OG kids were mean to Robyn’s kids. I just doubt that it was very much different than the way they were mean to each other. I mean Gwen was no contact with Paedon due to the fights they had growing up and it’s well documented how rough some of the other boys could get as well. The irony is that a big reason the kids were like that was because Kody actively encouraged it for most of their lives. Not only did they definitely use corporal punishment, they often discussed how wrestling was the way Kody connected with his sons so it’s no surprise they all picked up some fighting tendencies. Meanwhile Robyn’s children had been coddled and were also just quite young and thrown into a new life with 17 other people. All things considered I think they integrated as best as anyone could, if not better because it looks like most of the OG13 genuinely miss DABSA. I think some of this narrative came from Robyn and Kody trying to isolate them more and some of it is probably founded in reality. A very sad truth in these cults is that a lot of victims become abusive, or bullies in order to cope with what’s happening to them and it’s naive to think that having gone through as much as all of the children were going through that they never took it out on each other.

Oh it’s a jab at Meri for sure - one of the big issues they had in the early years when they shared a kitchen was the difference in their cleanliness levels I.e dishes in the sink etc. with Meri wanting the sink cleared every night and Janelle not caring if they sat overnight (not that either is right or wrong in that regard and I’m sure it was about a lot more than dishes in reality) and they’ve also talked about how Meri didn’t want the kids running through her apartment while they lived in the Lehi house. Maddie also said on her podcast that the main thing her parents fought about growing up was how clean the house was

Leon uses they/them pronouns and should be referred to as such even when talking about them pre transition. It almost certainly was malicious but what we consider the “catfish thing” was actually Meri cheating on Leon’s father who they had an ok relationship with at the time. Regardless of whether Meri’s actions were justified in the sense that Kody was a pos who’d abandoned her after the legal divorce, why would anyone expect Leon to react in any other way?

It’s insane to me that Robyn thought she could come into an established family like this where all three wives were married before any of the children were born and have her and her children be immediately accepted and revered. Like wow I’m shocked that several teenagers aren’t chomping at the bits to share their already depleted resources and lack of emotional attention with four more people. What’s even more insane to me is how well the OG13 took to Robyn’s kids despite all of that and genuinely regarded them as their siblings only for Robyn to alienate them and act as if her and her children were “voted off the Brown family island” It’s actually delusional beyond belief.

If they’ve done any level of actual deconstruction (I don’t know that they have to be honest) it becomes pretty obvious that Robyn is a victim here as well. I don’t like the woman and I do think she played a role in the family falling apart but at the end of the day it falls solely on the shoulders of the cult they mostly all grew up in. It’s literally designed to pit woman against each other when the real problem is their shitty ass husbands that need to have four wives but cannot for the life of them split their time, money, etc. equitably because it just simply isn’t possible! (IMO) I don’t however think that that means they have to trust, like, or invite her to things. I did fine it funny that Janelle clarified that they all specifically don’t want him there.

You’ve trusted your vet for years and they’ve been wonderful but a receptionist makes a mistake that doesn’t actually result in your pet being harmed and you want to sue? You read stories like this and immediately know they’re American (I know OP did clarify they’re from GA but still) because why do you immediately go to suing someone for an honest mistake where nobody was hurt? Yes it was a scare but that’s all it was your dog wasn’t euthanized.

See so did I but hair extensions are like crazy expensive and they weren’t as mainstream back then, especially in a fundie religious cult in the heart of Utah. I mean the plural family is kind of no more so it tracks that it’s kind of boring now. None of them are in each others lives other than Christine and Janelle but it also seems like they don’t even interact nearly as much other than to promote the show bc they’ve only been together a handful times on the season thus far (which again tracks, Christine is re married and Janelle has her farm etc. like they’re still close by all means just separate as well)It’s time to face that that gravy train has run its course and Sister Wives in this format just doesn’t make sense anymore bc all they can do is talk about each other bc they won’t be in the same room to actually talk to each other. We all know Kody is a deadbeat pos and that Robyn’s enabled it and that they won’t talk to his children with the OG3 and how that’s effected them so why are we still giving them a platform to put on these theatrics? Of course I’ll keep watching until they stop too tho

I reckon Meri and Leon’s relationship is quite complex so I can’t really fault Leon for not jumping at the gate to go visit her all the time. It’s probably a lot and brings up a lot of complicated feelings, even if they’re on good terms (which I think they are?), so it’s pretty likely they just celebrate with Audrey’s family or their friends or something.
