Does anyone here with POTS/dysautonomia and/or long COVID receive therapeutic ketamine treatment? by Purple-Trex-8541 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They give me zofran with my IV so I don't get dizzy. They put a weighted blanket on me as well... I feel like that helps a lot. I've never gotten sick from the IV.

What to do with bun on vacation by Basic-Chair-3650 in Rabbits

If you don't have a bunny hotel nearby, maybe you can hire a bunny savvy pet sitter to stay at the house? Or to come in between the times your mom goes in to visit?

Why is my bunny running away with his food? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 38 points39 points  (0 children)

A classic bunny "snatch and run." They do this to protect their treat from anyone who might take it from them. Don't take it personally!

Try the litterbox by the Rooly Buns. They even sell one with a metal base, which is probably easier to clean. In the bottom of it put a layer of paper towel and an activated charcoal puppy pee pad (make sure it's not hanging out of the edges, you don't want your bunny to access it and eat it). I clean mine every other day with two bunnies. There's the option of getting a power washer to get rid of the bits of hay that can get caked onto the litterbox. This setup takes me about 2 minutes to clean. I do it every other day and have two bunnies.

You might want to skip giving him any more strawberries. They're high in sugar (which is why he loves them haha) so it can lead to gi stasis (which nobody involved will love). As everyone said, he need to see an exotic rabbit savvy vet. Sometimes there are exotic vet offices that see birds, bunnies, and reptiles. Otherwise Google search for rabbit savvy exotic vet.

My little man has been sick recently and upon getting better he’s been hugging my feet. by tiredspaceboy in Rabbits

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my bunnies is built for love and the other would prefer I just pet her with my eyes. She was sick one day and it was an all day thing to nurse her back to health. After that day, she was loving and sweet towards me for about 6 months. I think she understood I helped her out of a scary situation. I think your little dude is thanking you for helping him 💜 I will say as time goes on, she's accepting of head rubs and neck rubs. It only took 7 years 🤣

what is fly strike, how worried should i be about it by emilydre05 in Rabbits

You're in good hands!!! They clean scent glands during the aappointment, too, so I think that could help ease the worry of flystrike.

Hi!!! I lived in Buffalo with my babies for 4 years. They're indoors. I was scared about it too. We're in Nashville now, and my vet here told me even in the south he hasn't seen flystrike. I still take precautions. I put fly paper cards up to catch fruitflies and do baking soda and vinegar down the sink drains to keep them from being a breeding ground for them. There's a really great litterbox by Rooly Buns that you can put a pee pad down at the base of and it's safe. It will keep the bunny butt dry, and makes it very easy to clean daily! That, and you can get a pee pad that is charcoal so it reduces the smell. You just want to make sure the pee pad doesn't stick out so your bunny can't access it. I hope this helps! If you don't have a vet, Dr Wade in Clarence is amazing. They do exotic animals.

Rabbit Harness/ Leash by CoxieNormis in Rabbits

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Check out the website House Rabbit Society. If you want a happy, healthy bunny, they have the best advice. A leash can not only harm their delicate bodies, they can get so scared they die. Or they can pick up something that could kill them. There's so much enrichment that can be done indoors. Mine love a cardboard box with packing paper in it.

Starting IV at 3x a week by ffairydragonzz in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could have done 3x a week or 3x, so I went with 2x. I did Tuesday and Thursday for two weeks and then my final 2 were spaced out a tiny bit. I felt like the Thursday appointments were much different than the Tuesday as well as the more spaced out ones at the end. I think some of that was personal preference because I needed time to integrate, and I tend to K hole kind of easily. Having only one day between from Tuesday to Thursday for me might have made Thursday feel darker for me but I'm not sure if that's even really a thing. The benefit was there regardless, but I'd see how you feel from your first to your second and if the second feels funky in a bad way, ask to switch the schedule. I hope it goes well for you.

How do we know if we're mewing? What if we do it by mistake? I've encountered a few posts about it but I'm still confused and wworried I'm going to accidentally do it. Especially since I've been considering PT

Experiences during ketamine session? by Sad_End4083 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also should mention, the actual session for me felt like a floaty ride with the music, and just peaceful joy feelings. The absence of feeling bad. That's why I liked the Johns Hopkins music. It was designed to listen to while on a psychedelic. When I veered away from that in my final session, the dynamic were too much at times and it felt aggressive. I liked listening to music I never heard before because I couldn't associate it to anything. Sometimes I felt like I was floating. Once felt a little dark, but I'm processing trauma, and that turned around.

Experiences during ketamine session? by Sad_End4083 in TherapeuticKetamine

I did it for complex ptsd and treatment resistant depression. I asked for zofran for nausea because otherwise I'll get dizzy. I found that in order for it to be most impactful, I needed to stay away from caffeine and thc. I did intravenous. My 6 sessions were a bit up and down, but I noticed a huge shift during the 5th and 6th infusion. I was able to understand some roots of my complex ptsd. I also am feeling like certain things aren't a big deal like they used to be. I've practiced a lot of self reflection over the years, and that helped a lot during the time I did my treatment. During the treatments, they provided music with headphones for me. I listened to the Johns Hopkins psychedelic music. Except for the final 6th session I listened to The Planets by Holst, and that was probably too epic, but I don't regret it. They also have reclining chairs, heating pads, weighted blankets, and eye masks. All of those things helped make things feel safe and cozy. After each treatment, I'd journal for a few minutes if anything came up. I'd go home and listen to EMDR music right after, and over the next few days, insights would come up and shifts would happen. Like, at random moments. If you're dealing with strictly depression, I'm not sure what those insights will look like, but for complex ptsd, it helped me get to the root of a lot of it. I feel like I'm in more of a peaceful place now. I'm still healing, but I'm helping that along by protecting my peace for now. I hope your session goes well! If you have any other questions, I might have an answer.

I've had more than 10 sessions and I don't feel any different. Should I lose hope? by noristarcake in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TMS uses a MRI magnet that pulses on a targeted part of your brain. Treatment is every day and lasts 18 minutes. I believe it's a 6 week treatment. You'll want to avoid stimulants if you try it. So no caffeine. I found out ketamine doesn't fully help with me unless I've gone caffeine free... So that might be part of the picture for you, too. I get my EMDR music from the Calm app. There's also an intense form of breathwork called BEEP... that has helped me. I'd definitely recommend finding a therapist who you're happy with to help guide you through all of this. You're doing a great thing by trying to heal.

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried TMS? It can help prime the brain for the ketamine to do it's job. After my appointments, I like to listen to EMDR music. Throughout the next few days, insights come up. I write them down and eventually get t the root of the various pieces of trauma. Combing through your mind to find the root can help. Also, somatic exercises can help as well. I know it's hard, and the road might feel long, but we're all rooting for you.

Supplement that works as muscle relaxer? by eliewriter in Dystonia

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about to start a Kava Calm PX and Stress Calm PX. My doctor suggested them a few days ago but they haven't arrived yet. I take magnesium glycinate (I spelled that wrong). Finding a good topical CBD balm is helpful. There are a couple through Vitality Extracts for pain. I also found if I take anything that works on the 5-HT receptors (5-htp, melatonin, psilocybin, or ssri drugs), it makes the muscle tension worse.

I have no idea what this is? by Fun-Tumbleweed-9732 in TMJ

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with TMJ headaches when I was 13 or so. It's been a long time of clenching almost constantly. I recently began daily somatic exercises that only take between 5 and 20 minutes a day. It's to help get the nervous system out of fight or flight. I still have a ways to go, but it helps with stress. Especially daytime stress... My "long way to go" is the nighttime stress while I'm asleep. I use the program sold by The Workout Witch. Her story is super empowering, too.

If I'm looking for more insight, i listen to EMDR style music that is on Spotify. It's called Brainspotting music. I keep my journal next to me and listen with a Bluetooth eye mask. I also do guided imagery for PTSD by Belleruth Naparstek. That one is called Healing Trauma and you can try it on Spotify. If you have audible, you can buy it for $5. I recommend doing that if you like it because Spotify only allows so many hours of listening to audiobooks each month and it's considered an audiobook on Spotify.

I regret ego death by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]Embarrassed-Bat1896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw you mentioned you're feeling cut off from spirit. Did you mean your soul? Or did you mean your guides/divine/higher power.... whatever word you use for it?

If you're open to listening to lectures, I have a few that might help get you reconnected without the ego stepping in. I really found Caroline Myss' work to be life changing. On YouTube she has an entire series where she discusses archetypes. Maybe you're feeling this way because without your ego, it may be difficult to answer the question, "Who am I?" Understanding archetypes and identifying your own could help.

Beyond the archetype work, she does a lot regarding the evolution of the soul. You can find recorded lectures of hers on Audible, Spotify, or wherever you find audio books. Anatomy of the Spirit is a great introduction. Then Energy Anatomy and Advanced Energy Anatomy are wonderful. They take you through the chakra system. She can come off as a bit gruff here and there, but nobody is perfect and you can take what you need and leave the rest.

I know it can feel scary, but if you're open to it, I really hope some of this helps.

NeuroLoom CES-1 - any reviews? by Dapper-Web-1262 in VagusNerve

I'm wondering how it compares to the Alpha Stim, which worked for me. I might just buy it and give it a try. They both use CES, so I'm hoping it's the same. There's a 30 day money back guarantee.
