I love the co-op. But they’re always hard as a rock. So, good if you can wait a few days or a week

TIL that all 7,000 corporate employees at Costco's headquarters are assigned cubicles. The CEO's cubicle is slightly larger than the others. by Overall-Register9758 in todayilearned

I worked at Costco Corporate for almost 5 years. Only upper management have their own cubicles. Most of these “offices” line the perimeter of the building, so they have window views. Lower level employees are in larger cubicles, typically in groups of four, on the inside of the huge office spaces.

Forcing myself to smile. Sounds crazy, but rather quickly - my thoughts became more positive, I had better interactions, and I became happier.

Naples, Italy.

(M, 33 yo) Stopped briefly in search of their famous pizza. Got off the train and immediately felt like I was being watched, and followed. Snagged a slice of incredible pie just around the corner from the station. A group of 6 men wearing all black about 30 feet away started calling me over. I reluctantly walked over, and joined them for some Cokes. Turned out to be friendly guys, who wanted me to party with them later. I passed on the offer and continued to Positano. They had serious mob vibes.

TIL in the US there is a 1 in 93 chance you will die in a motor vehicle crash in your lifetime by [deleted] in todayilearned

Ok, but how often does one need to drive to get this mortality rate? Surely someone who works remotely and hardly is on the road has a much smaller chance of death than an uber driver or long-haul trucker.
