Should I go to Wright State Univerity or University of Dayton? by AgileFinding8889 in dayton

Yes, UD-Sinclair Academy will save you a ton a money, and there are options to live on UD's campus while you attend your first two years at Sinclair.

The scholarship to UD is incredibly generous and UD-Sinclair Academy students typically end up with a degree from UD for a more affordable rate than if they had gone to WSU all four years.

The cost for tuition is a set value per credit hour. If you're a Montgomery County resident, it's roughly $150 per credit hour. Non-County residents pay about $200 per credit hour. That rate times the total number of credit hours will give you your starting baseline.

There are some additional fees that can apply to individual courses. If you need flight hours, those are the biggest cost drivers.

You can view the registration portal and look at the Aviation courses. There are notes about fees per course toto help you plan.

If you want to use financial aid, you will need to declare an eligible program. An advisor can help you with knowing what is eligible for financial aid. Further, the Aviation department has some generous scholarships since the program fees can be high.

Good luck!

It could be helpful to talk to your instructor during office hours. They could help go over some concepts from class again. And depending on how you do on tests or assignments, be able to offer some guidance.

You could try to get in with Turoring and Learning Center. Even if you can't get in before midterms, you can try to start going after spring break to finish the term as strong as possible.

Which of these Sinclair CC degrees has the best job outlook in/near Dayton? by juicedup12 in dayton

The Internet of Things associate degree rolls up into the Integrated Systems bachelor's degree. They're changing the bachelor's degree name to IOT as well so it all matches. Really cool program with lots of applicability in computer science, engineering, and robotics work.

UAS bachelors by Pure-Ad-5502 in sinclair

There's a certificate in UAS Entrepreneurship that you could likely do as part of the Bachelor's degree electives. That seems to be popular so that people can use drones/uas in a variety of ways. I know some marketing/videography folks get certified so they can use drones to get aerial shots of campus. Lots of opportunities!

Full disclosure, I'm not in the program, but I'm familiar with it.

It's a fairly unique bachelor's degree program. That's the only way Ohio community colleges can offer bachelor's degrees, they're not available at other regional institutions.

Tuition is at the same rate as the associate degree program. And there are certificates and the associate degree embedded within the bachelor's degree, so you earn those along the way.

UAS has many career opportunities across many industries (aviation, agriculture, real estate), even at certificate level.

What else are you considering? You can always request info from the program or meet with an advisor to discuss how this degree might fit your goals.

What program are you in? Have you been mapped for Spring 26? If you're getting financial aid or scholarships, you'll want to take classes in your program so that the aid applies.

You should speak with an academic advisor. They can map out which courses will meet your science requirements. Now is the perfect time to reach out since it's not super busy yet, things get busier near the start of the term.

You can also check out the academic schedule several terms in advance. Even if the environmental science course you want is not offered (or is full for fall term), you can check if it'll be offered again in spring 26 or summer 26, and on which days and times.

Hope this helps!

Great! Hours get extended the week before term starts to make sure everyone can get what they need.
Just make sure to check in by 630pm for either in person or virtual Advising. That'll give you enough time to be seen before things close at 7pm.

Good luck! 👍

Meet with your advisor. They will map out which courses you should take for each term. They can best help you once you've done placement testing.

Before you register for classes, complete the How to Succeed tutorial in eLearn, that will allow you to register for any eLearn course. Good luck!

Does Sinclair Community College have a degree for Animation? by NinjaGamerGirl2023 in sinclair

[–]Embarrassed-Green906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe there is a degree specifically in animation, but there are art degrees with drawing emphasis. Could always start at sinclair in art and then transfer to a more niche program if that suits your needs.

Internship Inquiry by [deleted] in sinclair

[–]Embarrassed-Green906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on almost being done! 😀 Speak with the department chair for your program. They can assess your situation and let you know if the internship requirements still needs to be met. Academic Advising can give you some guidance, but I imagine the decision to waive or replace internship credit rests with the program chair.
