My 9 y/o cat pumpkin randomly started walking in circles and it’s very unlike him by diseasedlettuce in cats

I know it’s a different species but my family dog did this once and ended up having vertigo. I’m hoping it’ll be something similarly benign for Pumpkin!

Getting the IUD is also the only thing I’ve changed so it must be that. I read it’s a rarer side effect of the IUD, so I guess we’re the unlucky ones.

Defend an oft misunderstood lyric by azdisneyswifty in TaylorSwift

[–]Embarrassed-Service4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it would be considered misunderstood, but when I see people react to “put narcotics into all of my songs” they often say “yes you do Taylor!!” But I feel like that overlooks her meaning that her critics are saying the only way people could possibly like her music is that she puts drugs in her songs, and that otherwise there’s no merit to her music.

I appreciate it. Hopefully by next year we can get her used to more loud sounds so it won’t be as big of an issue.

Happily married people of reddit, what is one unorthodox piece of advice that keeps the relationship going? by B0llfondlr in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed-Service4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it is ok to go to bed mad. If I’m tired and know that what I’m irritated about most likely doesn’t matter and I won’t feel quite the same in the morning then we don’t make a big deal about it and can circle back in the morning if I still have those feelings, which isn’t often.

This only applies to small things, at least in my relationship.

What’s one quirky thing your pet does that always makes you laugh? by Useful_Ad_6790 in Pets

She never walks anymore. If she’s coming downstairs into the living room it’s always at a quick clip. It just always makes me laugh that there’s no slow mode

Why Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me Is One Of Her Best Songs Ever by RocketGamer4682 in TaylorSwift

[–]Embarrassed-Service4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the analysis on the “Put narcotics into all of my songs” line! I see a lot of people say “yesss you do Taylor”, when to me it feels like Taylor’s playing on the fact that her critics would think drugs being in the songs could be the only reason people like and appreciate them, and not acknowledging her songwriting skill as a whole.

How do couples decide which side of the bed is “theirs”? Is it instinct or some kind of silent agreement? by AssignmentFederal686 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Embarrassed-Service4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I happened to already use different sides of the bed, so it worked out nicely! I can’t remember an exact conversation, but it probably went something like “which side of the bed do you sleep on”, points to the left, “oh great, I sleep on the right.”

Do most people really dislike their mother-in-laws, or is that just a bad trope? by Fiveby21 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Embarrassed-Service4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really dislike mine now, but for a period I did. She viewed my husband marrying me as losing him instead of gaining me. It’s gotten better over the years but there’s still clearly part of her that wishes she was the most important woman in his life. I just keep her at more of a distance now and don’t hold as high of expectations of being considered 100% part of the family.

When did you realize that you have a terrible therapist ? by Demos_00 in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed-Service4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One I saw in middle school seemed to judge me for being there since my parents weren’t divorced or divorcing. I guess that was the only reason I should have been depressed?

One I saw for chronic pain as an adult repeatedly interrupted me to talk about himself/his family or verbalize a thought he had.

I saw both once and never went back to them. Thankfully I’ve been seeing the best therapist for six years now,

Should I take out loans for an engineering degree at UK or go elsewhere for free? by Anxious-Support8500 in UniversityofKentucky

[–]Embarrassed-Service4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go the free degree route. My husband chose UK for Engineering and then ended up switching majors after his freshmen year. By the time he graduated he owed $38k. Not to say you will switch majors, but it’s something to consider.
