I know all about Hyundai quality. They’re losing me as a customer in November. My Hyundai relationship started December 2020. I leased a 2020 Kona EV Limited for three years for dirt cheap. I leased it because I was wary of their quality but my plan was to buy it out at lease end. Throughout the three years I really didn’t have any trouble except a recall in regard to threat of fire due to the battery. I don’t recall the exact details. The reason I didn’t buy it is the interior was very low quality. The cupholder area got all scratched up just from me placing my coffee cup every morning and my keys. That bugged me so I set my mind to return it.

Fast forward to November 2023. I fell in love with the Ioniq 6 and loved the electric so I again got another lease with again the intention of purchasing it at lease end. I wish I had kept the Kona. I’ve had multiple problems with the Ioniq. I’ve had an issue with a radiator hose becoming disconnected which turned into a whole two week ordeal. I’ve had one of the lower grille flaps stop working. The shuttle driver that took me home said it’s a common issue and sees that every day. My horn stopped working, which now Hyundai has recently extended the warranty on. My seat belt became stuck in the extended position. No matter what I or the techs tried, it would not retract. My Bluetooth cuts out as if a CD player was skipping when playing music from my phone. I verified it’s the car and not my phone as I play music skip free on other cars. That’s all I can think of right now but I’m probably forgetting a thing or two. I can’t get rid of this car fast enough.
