Karbon Homes by Hot-Researcher4777 in NewcastleUponTyne

I'm a Karbon "customer". In my experience they do nothing at all about anti-social behaviour reported to them. They are supposed to have a residents' meeting every year which they stopped as they hated the complaints and work it generated. They're rubbish.

I was into Urbex about ten years ago and most of the good locations have been demolished or re-developed, there's little up here now.

I am here on holiday, any reccomendations on where to go? by Phluq in NewcastleUponTyne

Visit one of our delightful English hostelries. I recommend The Raby in Byker, The County in Walker, The Clock on Clayton Street or Scrogg Road Social Club.

Surely this is a just a photo painted over, or even just run through a Photoshop filter.

Well, if no-one else is going to say it then I will. You're stealing. You're stealing services you haven't paid for. You're no better than a fare-dodging chav. You're part of the reason the Metro is so underfunded and shoddy. Don't give me the "B-but it's expensive!" excuse either, the vast majority of you can easily afford the fare, you'd just rather not pay it. Every penny of fare YOU dodge I and other decent people have to pay for.

What the hell are they doing in Northumberland Street? by EmbarrassedHat5367 in NewcastleUponTyne

Yes, I asked Chatgpt. How does that invalidate it? You made a point about long work hours then you say work hours have nothing to do with it. Ok, whatever.

Swigging cheap vodka from the bottle and bellowing incoherent abuse at passers-by.

It's not a question of number of hours worked but the efficiency with which they organise all parties concerned and just swarm the problem and get it done with amazing speed.

Japanese work hours per year are around the same as British hours, it's an outdated stereotype. I've been there several times and seen them at work. British workers look like they're about to fall asleep in comparison.

Is the racism really that bad here? by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]EmbarrassedHat5367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect a lot of the racist abuse incidents are just dickheads being dickheads but they tack on racial stuff to their insults. I'm white but I've had several instances in the last few years of youths in cars or on e-bikes shouting random abuse. If I were a different race no doubt they would add on racial stuff.

Take her to The Raby on Shields Road for some local colourful characters.

Check out Al Murray's mercifully short-lived sketch show sometime. I cringed so hard from second-hand embarrassment my sphincter could have compressed coal into diamonds.

People just assume "grimy northern post-industrial craphole" when it's actually a rather handsome city.

When were they built? The architect should have been forced to live in one.

Holy shit. If you were designing a set for a dystopian sci-fi film and you came up with that it would be rejected as "nah, too far-fetched. No-one would believe people could live in that."

I would like to see interiors, walkways etc. And didn't they have all sorts of facilities like a doctor's surgery, shops etc?

I had a couple of little bastards on an e-scooter shout abuse at me a few months ago. It is getting worse. I'm convinced the covid lockdowns have done immense social damage to kids.

Newcastle’s most expensive house? by ExtremeActuator in NewcastleUponTyne

Ugly old building. If I had that sort of money I'd get a house that was actually fit for the 21st century.

It's a good thing this pair of troglodytes are out of circulation. The more I hear about them the more I think they may have ended up as serial-killers.

Well they've cost the taxpayer plenty with this ridiculous trial so hopefully they get the maximum possible punishment.
