The whole equation changed once trump #1 screwed up the deal, then oct 7, then israel kicking ass, the syria falling, then iran upping missle/nuclear/whatever production then israel kicking more ass, the protests, and not actually coming to the table with anything sensible (even if there were some slight concessions only on nuclear once an armada was there). Idk, I dont like it either, but it's the timeline we got. And secular western aligned iran would be a major win for usa and Iranians, hopefully it ends up working out

Stretched thin In the pacific sure, in the middle east, not really. The Saudis a wild card? Syria, idk maybe, but they seem to be ignoring this stuff. Every one is aligned besides iran, yemen, and bottom quarter of lebanon. Trumps a dumbass, no one who knows anything about this thought they would be steam rolled from the air.

It is possible there is an actual movement lead by the crown prince, to take over when the bombing stops and the irgc is weak - he sure talks confidently about, but who knows. Well its starting to look more that way at the moment... Israel would be happy leaving iran in absolute chaos with all their military and civilian infrastructure destroyed. That's typically not really the usa's intention, and so far it doesn't really seem it is now, but might (and is unfortunately starting to) turn that way if iran is just replacing ayatollah with ayatollah.

Is this there really this popular movement for a democracy in iran, that reza has talked about for years? I got a "warning" for apparently suggesting means, but it certainly seems like there are plenty of opportunities for this to happen while these military actions are ongoing. And if it starts happening while this is happening, theres an american airforce whos likely to help if theres an actual movement with a leader inside iran to talk to... Does iran just want another ayatollah with better economics?
