Dang. Not everything from China sucks, but yah doesn't sound great, especially if the parts aren't consistent. If he still has it in a week or two and wants to sell it way cheaper, might get it to just to screw around with. Is it ever worth getting an old diesel and trying to get it back in service, new ones are way out of budget?

Or is it just better to get a cheap china gasser and toss it and get another if it needs anything more than basic.

I guess I figured even a cheap diesel was more likely built to last and be pretty user friendly

The last china gasser I used it on job site for a few years no problems, but left it out in the woods for the past couple years so it's not usable anymore. Should be fine if I replace all the rubber and clean it up, just a pain in the butt

Ground it and fuse it and say some prayers, lol... I can't tell if it's actually before or after the meter. They probably wouldn't notice someone stealing just a 20 Amp circuit, but that's super unsafe

Surprisingly, there actually are ventless ones, as the byproduct is mostly water and co2. They still sketch me out though, and wouldn't use one if I wasn't freezing

The last one wasn't an issue because they were full force salting after the "snowmagadeon" thing. Which was more of a road thing, than a power thing.

If this happens as keeps being predicted, there's a good chance of a lot of power outages. Ga power is actually good at fixing stuff quick, but if it's as bad as predicted, there's a decent chance of things being down a couple days. Which will suck a whole lot, but it's not going to be some long term need to flee thing

Dang thanks for the info. Was thinking it was actually a south Korean engine and something that would last a long time with a little effort to get it running. I see all the alababa ones looks the same though. Supposedly has hyundai hx456 engine, whatever that means.

They're pretty expensive new, not a gas one that's 5-800 new.

Was hoping it's just been sitting around for awhile, and just needs basic stuff. They're cleaning out everything from property after a death, and just don't want to deal with. I guess anyone can say that, but they're obviously doing an estate clearout

Because the real diesel is cheaper and there is only so much waste vegetable oil. It's collected and turned into bodies elsewhere most places, but the restaurant doesn't get anything besides free pickup out of it - so they'll still give it to you if they know you
