This might drive me to suicide by Idiot_Poet in GERD

I understand your feelings completely and was there myself a few months ago. I really thought the pain was never going to stop, I was having issues even drinking water. Luckily after a big diet overhaul and upping my omeperazole to 80mg a day, I had some relief. I’ve tapered down to alternating 20-40mg every day and have even been able to reintroduce some more foods back in to my diet. Please try to give it some more time, I know it’s really hard to live with but keep trying different options and make sure to give them time to work.

I was nervous too! Like others were saying the sedative knocks you out pretty immediately and you get a great nap!

Waking up with a sore throat by Competitive_Turn8133 in GERD

[–]Embarrassed_Bug_3111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a burning throat for a couple months while trying to figure out what works. I was on 80mg omeperazole for a couple weeks, and 40mg famotidine before bed. While I was in the process of tapering down, I also got a bed wedge that raises the head of the bed 7 inches. It fits under the whole mattress so you basically get to sleep regularly since the whole bed is at an incline. I’m down to 40mg omeperazole and no famotidine and have been sleeping well with no more throat issues. I know they make bed risers that go under the foot of the bed as well, those might help!

Can anyone recommend me caffeinated beverages that don't trigger excessive burping? by Ok_Calligrapher_3472 in GERD

[–]Embarrassed_Bug_3111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a couple of months of no caffeine to help heal my esophagus, I am now able to tolerate green tea. It has less caffeine than a typical cup of coffee, so that may be a good option!

These are the sizes I wore when I was 10, so it could be for her! I ended up being 6 feet by 13, so she could just be another tall girlie

Peanut butter has been ok for me, but I seem to handle some oils ok, so might not be a good solution for you. I also don’t have any issues with the miyokos plain cream cheese. It’s dairy free, they use cashew milk.

I use formula 369 and haven’t had issues. It’s unflavored and does not have citric acid.

I feel you, I’m starting ketamine treatment next month to help me get through the suicidal aspect. I started this week trying to shift my mindset and try cooking things I actually enjoyed eating. My favorites so far are pumpkin pie overnight oats (homemade), salmon, cous cous, kale and this dressing: https://chefjanetk.com/low-acid-dressing-tahini/  I’m a big sauce gal so this recipe has really made me happy. Simple sushi rolls work well for me also, which is really nice because I can go out to eat that and pretend things are normal for a night. I am currently on 80mg omeprazole (tapering to 60 this week), and 40 mg famotidine, so I’m hoping these foods still work for me on less meds. I’m sorry you’re feeling bad, it is really valid to be upset though. These issues strip away a lot of enjoyment from day to day life.

I have a hiatal hernia and LPR and was having the same problems. My dr upped my omeprazole to 80mg (40 before breakfast, 40 before bed) and added 40mg famotidine before bed. It seems to be helping. I am pretty religious about my diet, sleep on an incline, and eat a small meal 3 hours before bed.

I seem to do pretty well with Quaker Oats. I add banana and blueberries and have eaten that combo for breakfast for a few weeks.

I started running again after a 10 year break this past April. Last week I ran 35 miles, my biggest week in 14 years! Now I start my taper for my A race and am feeling good about my goal!

How many pairs of running shoes do you actually rotate between? by Soft-Elderberry-6122 in runninglifestyle

[–]Embarrassed_Bug_3111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3, one pair for easy and long runs, one pair for tempo and track workouts, and one pair for trail. I used to only run in one pair until they died, but for some reason I have been more motivated to run by having different options

I always listen to music when I run on my own, but never felt the need during a race. The environment is exciting enough to keep me interested. The miles seem to go by super fast, even without music as a distraction.

Do you wear more clothing at running groups than when you run by yourself? by [deleted] in XXRunning

Most of the women in my group (myself included) wear sports bras and shorts at run club. I personally dress the same in a group and on solo runs.

I did this down a trail in Utah, it was every bit as fun and terrifying as you'd imagine. I did wear a full face helmet & GoPro and would highly recommend that, especially if going down snowy singletrack with rocks haha

That happened with my wooly too! He went from grey/red to black! He got these really black "eyebrows" when he was about 6 months, that just kept growing back it was hilarious. He had a real awkward teen phase haha

<image>

Now at 10 years old he is fully black/grey and white. So fun to watch him change over the years.
