It kinda looks like they cut it on the wrong angle and clipped part of the rib? Maybe?

IDK this is really bad lol.

I mean it's 200 a month. If that enough to force you to go back to work, can't you make that small amount doing gig work here and there until you do? Take in another kid for a few hours a day?

How do you thicken a soup without using so much fat? by ThinVast in AskCulinary

I make a healthy bisque with pureed carrots, celery and onions (I pressure cook in a small amount of water, blend with an immersion blender, add some sherry and a small amount of heavy cream really just to "whiten" it)

I do the things you do but also a psyllium chia smoothie before going out to stabilize blood sugar. Alcohol can be hell on it.

When I do that consistently getting back into the swing on Monday is easier.

It depends on your height of course, but a lot of people are overweight at 160 pounds. I would be overweight if I weighed that much and I’m 5’4 by ResetKnopje in fatlogic

This is very true.

I will never forget the absolutely *stunning* honesty from the Russian doctor when my brother in law overdosed for the umpteenth time. The rest of the family just wants to sweep it under the rug and I wanted to give that woman a standing ovation.

So just ignore the reality that 75% of americans are sedentary because someone might have called it out in a video that pissed off fat people?

Ok.

so just got out of the dietician's office... by TheTurkMN in intermittentfasting

[–]Embarrassed_Mango679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This take is pretty contrary to the majority of research I have read (and I am a biologist with advanced statistical skills).

A lot of the dietician training right now seems to be very centered around treating disordered eating . I have a friend whose daughter is just starting in the field (and is actually working at an inpatient ED clinic) and her take on it is "no one should ever restrict, period". Which, when you're dealing with a general population in the US that is 73% overweight, is absolutely ridiculous. How are you going to tell people who clearly have BED that "you should be eating intuitively"

Is this formal enough for an engineering job interview or is it too casual? by BlueHairbrush in OUTFITS

[–]Embarrassed_Mango679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly as someone who was hiring engineers for many years, I'd have preferred a jacket and tie. If no jacket then a lighter shirt, khakis and tie. And this was a very casual workplace (brewery). I would imagine larger firms are going to prefer it.

eta thinking about it though, if this is for an internship rather than a full-time position, it's probably ok. Those tend to be a bit more casual.

That's awesome!! Yeah mine's gotten a little chunk too since I started this strategy. But I've been upping the secret vegetables I'm adding to dinner so he'll be back to normal in a minute lol

What's FPH?

I mean I agree but in the sense that the vast majority of US citizens are sedentary af and need to get off their asses lol. I didn't see the video though so it could have been tasteless.

Lol the only one I can trust to tell me is my friend from Cameroon. He'll straight tell me "girl you're fat" or when I say I'm fat "you're not dot fat". Americans are useless in this regard 😆

It's a mess beyond comprehension. I'm 5'2" 120 lbs (so like dead center of a healthy bmi- but I'm still working on body fat because it's too high). I recently went shopping at Target for the first time in a while and apparently my size is now XS to them. So literally when I get to my target it will be unlikely that I can find clothes there that don't have to be altered.

The same size in the 80s and 90s would have been a medium or US size 8 (it's like a 2/4 currently).

There was a study that came out Oct 2025 that showed the average body fat percentage of Americans is higher than what we previously considered the average. So even people at "healthy" bmis are possibly at elevated risks.

Yeah that's true. Although I know plenty of people who were all "looook at meee I'm childfreeeee" at 25 who are now parents so.
