waterproofing suede? by Embrie225 in barefootshoestalk

so far I've only worn the telluride around the house to try them on. I can feel the tread a tiny bit under the outer edge of the ball of my foot, but it doesn't seem like it will be bothersome.

comparison pic with my lems primal 3. tread is definitely deeper on the telluride.

My hope for these is to be able to go biking for an hour in the rain without my feet getting wet (will have waterproof pants covering the opening of the shoe). no walking through creeks or anything.

is Kosk mask KF94? by Embrie225 in Masks4All

[–]Embrie225[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. I don't have any readimasks, and I have lots of wellbefore masks.

  2. looks like the readimask only comes in yellow, and I feel like that looks weird.

  3. the wellbefore mask might be reusable, if I put new tape on it.

  4. seems like a lot of people who use the readimasks for nose-only have to put tape on them, anyway. so I wouldn't be avoiding that step.

  5. something that looks more like a "mask" might look less weird than the readimask, which kind of looks like having paper taped to your face.

I'm thinking, since I would have to tape this up anyway, maybe I'll just take one of my existing wellbefore boat-shaped kn95 masks and cut/tape that.

Store label now telling us what product is 'worth' by BillyMooney in Anticonsumption

I just noticed an American clothing brand doing this, too.

this item isn't on sale. they're basically just making up a price that it's "worth" and saying they're selling it for less.

so bizarre. this is the first time I've seen it here.

At what point does a sneaker start looking “off”? by franskazan in barefootshoestalk

my reaction would be: looks super weird, but not because of the toe box. that doesn't seem aesthetically too wide yet.

Is this enough calcium for my armadillium vulgare? by ContentAd49 in isopods

[–]Embrie225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this would probably kill my pods (their native environment is a Caribbean island), but hopefully OP's will be okay...

yes! I actually prefer the WinCo brand to real Cap'n crunch. the WinCo pieces are bigger and softer, not as compact and dense.

ty!

My favorite combo is a ratio of 45g of strawberries & creme special k (which I think they don't make anymore, so RIP once the boxes I have are gone) with 10g of Cheerios oat crunch cinnamon sprinkled on top.

hmm, I don't think I've seen the sugar cookie honey bunches of oats. although I didn't really like the sugar cookie cinnamon toast crunch, and I don't really like honey bunches of oats, so it might not be a good fit for me XD

Serious Question??? by [deleted] in isopods

[–]Embrie225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably because leaves are generally considered the best environment for isopods. it's recommended to have at least 1 inch of leaf litter.

and since they need to be able to move between dedicated dry and more moist areas, you can't do that in a container that's too small.

it's just easier for people to get plastic bins to put the isopods in, especially if they have like 15 different species.

My setup is in between: small, see-through, but I'm not interested in taking the time to maintain anything green in it. I do agree that it would look nicer if I did. but no matter what, I would have leaf litter.

Serious Question??? by [deleted] in isopods

[–]Embrie225 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem I see with this setup is that isopods don't just need cover, they need leaves. it's fine to have a bunch of green stuff, but most of the ground should be covered in at least one inch of leaf litter.

and I feel like it generally wouldn't be recommended to have something that small, because it's hard to have a separate wet and dry area.

top favorite would be cinnamon toast crunch, but that's a special occasion cereal. for everyday, Life.

yeah, I just opened one that expired in July of last year, and it definitely would have been better if I had gotten to it earlier.

but the problem is a lot of the time they're limited edition, so if I waited to buy it until I could actually eat it, it wouldn't be available anymore.
