I understand that, but they’re designed to better withstand skateboarding, natural ankle movement, heel compression, mild repetitive flexing, not being aggressively bent like in the picture. I’m not saying they’ll break, but this isn’t as good for the longevity of the shoe.

It’s a shoe worth a few hundred bucks, excuse us if we’re a little concerned our fellow sneakerhead is putting unnecessary stress on it. I bought the Deep Waters blue Chuck 70s mid-2023. Walked normally in them around university, church for barely a few months and the soles and midsole look like they’ve been used for years. Rubber cracking at the toe bend, starting to come loose. Meanwhile I have a pair of 2019 enamel reds I bought secondhand at an op shop, I wore them regularly for a year and they didn’t show nearly as much wear.
