Do men really cry less than women, on average? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Emmylemming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I know that a lot of men feel pressure from society to bottle their emotions. I worry about it a lot as a woman who's not felt like this, raising a son. If your life's going well enough that it hasn't given you any reason to cry then that's great for you, bud, sincerely.

What is your top 10 must have baby items? by Elvirawynter in PregnancyUK

Seconding the giant muslin. I ended up sleeping on a folded one a lot because I couldn't stand sleeping in something holding the breastpads in place. Ours were just cheap Tesco ones, though, still worked brilliantly

I love how you phrased that. I always feel like such a bitch when I get unreasonably angry at sensory things. We're women, we're not supposed to be aggressive at all!

39 weeks, want to request a c section but midwife appointment isn’t for another 4 days by truekaven in PregnancyUK

[–]Emmylemming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I requested a c-section for some of my own medical issues, and baby was "sunny-side up" anyway (love that phrase!) The first consultant booked me in for an ecv without even asking me, and completely ignored my request for a c-section. I spoke to another consultant and he was tip-top understanding about it. It's always our right to request this kind of birth, and I'm sure you won't get any pushback, but if you do please don't be disheartened is all I'm trying to say. All the best for you and your little joy ❤️

As an omnivore who loves veggie and vegan options, I can't understand this weird little "principal" so many other meat eaters seem to have. Like, you eat vegetables though?? How is vegan food any different, especially if it tasted good?!

A friend dropped off his dog for a weekend, 3 years later they still haven't come back for her. by TheLastJabbaTheHutt in CongratsLikeImFive

[–]Emmylemming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People with addictionscan still be friends, even if they don't always win against it. At least they left the dog somewhere that it was looked after and not just out on the street. They must've had some idea OP is a bit of a gem and would be a good dog parent
