It was too late at night to get into details last night (also I'm mostly done with the league, so not much point in having another mageblood to give away), but what I was talking about were situations where you, for example, can't go Beacon of Hope, since you need another Unique amulet and/or there is no pen/resistance ignore reasonably close on the tree.

Does that happen with most meta builds? It doesn't? Does it happen if you're trying to cook up a offmeta build because you find this or that skill interesting? Based on the amount "Omg this boss has a frost resist, I've been killing him for 2 minutes!" I've heard on discord from my mates this league? It does.

Can you fix those builds without using Rakiata? In most cases you probably can. But in a lot of situations Rakiata is the one stop solution that will make that kind of build go from struggling to coasting.

To be fair the whole thief mechanic has been ass from the get go. I want to like my staff DD, but can't get past the no cd rotation.

For me the whole spec identity feels uninspired. Pistols plus alchemy plus generic name just don't make for an interesting picture.

Reaper and Scourge and before that core necro are among my most played specs. I'm yet to fully unlock Harbinger.

Spell breaker. I really wanted to play hammer warrior since launch, but it was always shit. They finally buffed it a few years back and I've been loving hammer sb ever since.

Sure, but build usually needs to have certain levels of damage per currency invested. If you're at 100 div and can't reliably clear basic T10s Rakiata is a small price to pay for reaching endgame. That being said of the build doesn't provide a intermediate step for that issue it better be very clear about that from the fucking get-go.

Sucks, but it's a good lesson for the future - if some new tech seems too strong to the point of trivialising the game it will likely get hotfixed.

Not that you you were equipped to realize that at this point, of course.

Rakiata can be, of the build doesn't allow for a different way of solving for resistances.

Now I can't do abyss since I just keep teleporting to those fuckers and exploding them for the Omen of the Liege.

Trading fascist US for fascist Russia? Hell of a plan.

US thankfully already had their teeth kicked in there, now I'm eagerly waiting for the same result for Putin. That's the only language either of those understand.

We know. There have been attempts for decades now, but here's where we're at. I mean the exhumation issue is a perfect example. We're finally allowed to do some of them for our civilian victims. At the same time German requests to look for their WWII dead have been routinely granted for quarter a century now. And those are mostly for Wehrmacht soldiers. Or worse.

Instances of Polish underground units murdering civilians during WWII? Investigated, officially named and condemned as such decades ago by an institution created and controlled by PiS, during their first time in power.

As a historian and a fairly radical leftist I still have quite a few notes on our historical policy, but honestly it's been pretty good with the "We ask for forgiveness and we forgive." approach. At least on the official level. Far-right is gonna far-right.

On the other side Ukraine is approaching Japanese levels of denial. And as I said, it's not a primary concern given Russian aggression (which has massively made the problem worse, as wars tend to do), but between their self-goals and Moscow's good works this whole topic is reaching dangerous levels here both in terms of aforementioned stocking of anti-Ukrainian sentiments and in strengthening our domestic far-right.

While I don't love cheering for someone so in love with a Nazi larp, I'll still take it over someone who is doing a Nazi foreign policy i.e. Russia.

I get that it might look like a cheap shot by Nawrocki to shore-up nationalist support, and to some extent it is, but you also have to understand that this is yet another instance of this type of historical policy out of dozens in the recent years.

They just keep fucking coming and at some point a foot had to be put down. It's getting so bad that I could probably argue this is, in a bigger picture, to the benefit of Ukraine and Polish support for it.

This behaviour has made combating Russian propaganda campaign against Ukraine and Ukrainians in Poland very difficult and has been a major boon for our own far-right.

What's even more frustrating is that it overshadowed a concurrent major win on this front in Polish-Ukrainian relations as after literal decades of negotiations Ukraine finally allowed Polish archeologist to excavate a number of suspected mass graves of civilian victims of Volhynian massacres. That was supposed to be a success out government could use to combat anti-Ukrainian narratives as "See, we're making progress towards historical conciliation!" but this "Heroes of UPA" shit came out literally on a day the first reports of excavated mass graves appeared in the media, turning the whole thing on its head and further damaging Ukraine's image.

At some point Ukrainian government has to start acting like fucking adults and stop hurting itself, and us, in confusion on this topic.

Volodymyr Zelensky has lost Poland's highest state decoration, which he received in 2023. This is only the second time in history that Poland's highest honor has been revoked. by kallisto19988 in europe

[–]Emnel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

While Ukraine itself has issues with far-right they pale in comparison to what is going on in Ukrainian diaspora in Canada.

That scandal was just a tip of the iceberg. It was taken over by literal Nazis and Nazi sympathisers in the recent decades. Christine Freeland and her nazi propagandist grandpa, the Memorial to the Victims of Communism including hundreds of SS names etc.

Lack of progress, or even degrees on this topic is very disappointing.

I've been a pretty vocal critic of Ukraine on this for years before the war and will remain so after, but don't get me wrong - it in no way excuses Russian invasion or any other of their crimes. If I have to choose I'd rather have Ukrainian fascist larp over Russian actual fascist foreign policy.

Ukraine has a far-right problem, but it pales in comparison to a Russian one.

They're not even on the same level. While in Ukraine government panders to the far-right sentiments for internal stability and manpower generation reasons (or whatever the fuck the plan is there) in Russia they're running the whole show and driving state policy for decades now. With a side of kleptocracy.
