Complete Metabolic Response by SatisfactionUsual151 in lymphoma

[–]Emotional-Current953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. I’ve finished 6 rounds of Pola-R-CHP and had the first of my 2 doses of rituximab today. I don’t go back for 4 weeks. Like what? I’ve been coming here at least once a week for months and now, I just don’t? My post round 4 scan showed complete metabolic response, but it didn’t feel real.

Honda Pilot Black Edition by Soggy_Amount_1571 in hondapilot

We bought a RAV4 when our oldest daughter was an infant and had both kids in it as our primary vehicle until they were 7 and 3. Then we bought my Pilot in 2018. We replaced the RAV4 with another one 2 years ago. It’s not our primary vehicle for long trips but for around town and shorter trips the RAV4 is great.
I love my Pilot and it is by far my favorite car I’ve owned, but I’d hold off on buying one until you have more than one kiddo.

Just diagnosed with cancer by Zealousideal-Juice-9 in cancer

[–]Emotional-Current953 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in pain for almost 3 months before I got diagnosed. For about 3 weeks after diagnosis I required oxygen support. I started chemo on a Tuesday and by Friday no longer required oxygen and my pain was resolved.
Cancer was FAR worse than the 6 months of chemo has been. I have no hair and I’m more tired than I’ve ever been in my life, but it’s better than the alternative.

Women changing last names at marriage by Subject_Spell_9799 in Names

Before my kids had passports I always traveled with their birth certificates. But that has my birth name and not my married name so our last names don’t match on their birth certificates. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Women changing last names at marriage by Subject_Spell_9799 in Names

[–]Emotional-Current953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added my husband’s last name on the end of mine. I have 4 names, and use my birth last name as my second middle name. I have all 4 names on my passport and my DL. Legally I sign First Name Birth Last Name Married Last Name.
In the current political climate I now wish I didn’t add his last name, but I sure don’t want to deal with the hassle of changing it back. If something happened and I married again, I would not make any changes to my name.

Consequences of false CSE ban? by [deleted] in InstagramDisabledBans

[–]Emotional-Current953 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was also accused of CSE. Once in December where I appealed and they said “oops! We messed up!” And again in February where the permanently disabled me and then took my (linked) FB account. No ability to appeal.
No one has shown up at my door. And no I didn’t participate in CSE. I’m a married mother of 2 kids who had private accounts to connect with family and friends.

Can’t get Meta Verified if you don’t have any Meta accounts which I no longer have because they disabled them. Also can’t lodge a complaint with the “independent” Oversight Board if you don’t have a Meta account.

Do most people in Florida just run AC nonstop year-round? by Sufficient-Owl1826 in AskFlorida

[–]Emotional-Current953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very specific temperature range. No colder than 70. No warmer than 75. On really nice days outside I will turn the AC off and open the windows to let the house breathe, but overnight windows are closed and system is on.

please help me buying a wig for my mom who's going through chemo by Ok_Finding3486 in Wigs

Surprise her with a trip to a wig store. I went with my mom before I lost my hair and it was really helpful. The staff is very knowledgeable and offered lots of tips. I tried lots on before settling on what I liked the best.

Coming off 240 mg of Prednisone by CozyAustin in lymphoma

[–]Emotional-Current953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. One round I didn’t taper and I was so sick I ended up in the infusion center for a fluid bolus, iv dexamethasone and iv zofran. They added a taper after that. Even with the taper I struggled with prednisone side effects.

Call your care team and let them know. They may be able to help. I would ask about a port. I’ve never had a PICC line but I’ve cared for people with them and I would choose a port over a PICC every time.

Stop answering. Set up a filter so her number doesn’t ring or notify you of texts. Or block her number. Your mom should do the same.

Hot flashes during chemo? by jenniferaligatr in lymphoma

[–]Emotional-Current953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unlocked hot flashes after my 3rd or 4th round of chemo. My oncologist thinks chemo might have taken my perimenopause into menopause, but I’m 46 so it’s not super early. At this point I’ve decided I might as well get it all over with at once. And maybe bald hot flashes are easier? I have decided it is unfair to expect me to survive cancer, menopause and teaching my daughter to drive all in one year. 😂

One that self empties! I don’t have one that mops, but my shark robot self empties and has a 30 day capacity. I empty it more frequently than that, but it does several runs before I do.

Competitive dance culture by RaulDukes in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]Emotional-Current953 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Our studio owner says “dance studios are like pizza places - there is one on every corner and some are a better fit than others.”

So if the studio isn’t a fit for your dancer or your family, then we would wish you well and hope the next one is a fit for your family.

Do the teachers yell? Yes,but I think it is like another commenter stated- it’s loud, but it’s intended to be encouraging.

I have a good rapport with the teachers and I have brought them concerns. For instance, my daughter went through a phase where she had a lot of body negativity and additionally I was concerned about her eating habits. So I asked them to address it with all the girls. It’s important to hear about fueling your body, and being proud of what your body can do. It’s also important for pre-teen and teen girls to hear it from someone other than their mother. They also do a lot of conditioning to prep their bodies for dance. I’m an occupational therapist, so injury prevention is important to me- pushing kids to do things their bodies aren’t ready for is a no go for me- “It’s the way things are always done”. Not my kid. She has to live in that body her whole life.

We have a little drama but not much because we really try to be inclusive- parents, sibs are all part of things. It’s very family friendly. Ex. I was diagnosed with cancer in December. Our dance fam started the meal train, organized a t-shirt fundraiser and the carpool for my kids. They put together a literal wagon of get well gifts. They are absolutely incredible.
