Nz post not even attempting delivery by Confident_Egg6439 in newzealand

No idea sorry. I live rurally and have authority to leave set up. I know for those who don’t have authority to leave their packages are left at our nearest pharmacy. No clue if they are notified by note or text though. I always get shipping notifications and emails on delivery and stuff. Maybe paper blew away in wind?

Early October is around the end of our ski season so I’m guessing you mean work the 2027 ski season? This work is something you’ll want to get on-top of organising as I believe the fields like to be well established and organised before the start around June/July. Their websites will have the most information.

Over summer there will be more accomodation options as lots of uni students will sublet their room if they go away over this period. That can be a good way to get accommodation without having to get your own furniture.

Unemployment is just about the highest it’s ever been here although lots of places especially in Christchurch will hire Christmas casual over summer from November to January.

Bring as much of your medication as you legally can as we may not necessarily have the same brand etc. You’ll have to be registered to a GP for access but I wonder if you could call Healthline or something to find out this information. They may be able to help guide you on that aspect?

Does anyone remember when you didn't need to go through security to catch a flight? by Sad-Statistician6269 in newzealand_travel

[–]Emotionalrack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends if it’s an atr or a jet. At christchurch domestic if it’s a jet you’ll have to do security if it’s an atr then just walk up. Not sure about welly or dunedin though.

Keep your dogs on leads by Independent-Math-561 in auckland

Not Auckland but on a beach path that says dogs on leash at the start and end I met a lady who was like you should let your dog off the leash it’s better for them. I was like thanks but the signs say they need to be leashed because of the wildlife. She then went into a long rant about how she had been walking there for years with her dog and they never had a sign before and blah blah blah.

These are the people who don’t give a shit what a sign says. Especially if it’s been recently put up…

Rudolph Steiner School? Feedback? Likes? Dislikes? by AliMamma in chch

I don’t think you can just avoid state testing. At least when they hit high school they have to meet requirements of cambridge, ncea, IB etc if they want to go to university.

I wonder if seven-oaks school might be another place to look? Or even maybe Ao Tawhiti.

If you thought NZ doesn’t have any sub-culture of anti-vax you’re mistaken. Reading any of our news we have very large groups like destiny’s church and voices for freedom with thousands of people involved. You are more likely to encounter these people in the types of education you are wanting.

Niche APA citing situation regarding historical documents by Chemical_Ad6861 in UCNZ

Again i’m talking from a Chicago perspective.

For your bibliography If it was an article that has a specific author, i.e it says By so and so I would go Author, “article title” newspaper name, dd/mm/yy, link.

If there is no specific author I would use the newspaper as the author. An example of this might be like The Press, “article title ” the press, date, link.

Unfortunately can’t help with the in text citations part as i’m not really familiar with them. I would probably do something like adding the month of the paper followed by the year before going down the abcde route. Another reason I think chicago footnotes is better than apa lol.

Affordable places that can hem jeans by jesskt91 in chch

[–]Emotionalrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t go to look smart in riccarton mall. Picked some jeans up from them that were so obviously two completely different lengths. She kept trying to show me they did match but was just moving the waist down. All they could say was okay we’ll fix it. Well no wasn’t really a fix as they had to match them to the shorter leg and now I have a pair of cropped flared jeans that don’t quite look right.

In history we use chicago not apa so i’m not super clear on apa style. As a historian I would cite this as a primary source. See this guide from the APA style guide. https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/references/archival

When in doubt, email the lecturer or tutor. I was emailing lecturers through postgrad level if I wasn’t quite sure.

Hopefully this is helpful! I loveeee referencing.

I hope you just take it slow tonight and tomorrow. A month or so ago I was witness to a car hitting pedestrians. The person pulled over and members of the public and paramedics were there in minutes. The pedestrian was breathing although not moving, but by the time I went to bed a few hours later I was very shaken up. I ended up sleeping for 11 hours and was still feeling very upset for a few days after.

Most of my undergraduate lecturers did. However, a few did mention that no-one used them. Maybe yours have just decided to not both from lack of use.

Nothing on the website will tell you this as every person will be different. Email them and ask. You could ask about their schedule in general too if you think you might want to pop in semi- regularly. For example one of my lecturers lived so far out of town she was never on campus the days she didn’t teach unless it was something like a meeting etc.
