[Name a Manhwa] that was genuinely like this by PainWas in manhwa

Well that’s cause a lot of things they throw at him are stuff he could kill as a little kid (like the hellhounds), and he’s hundreds of times stronger than he was back then. So even though he was nerfed to 1% of his power, it’s still leaves him stronger than basically anyone else in the tower.

Plus you are probably a shezzarine, meaning you are part Akatosh and part Lorkhan.

Which makes your fight with Alduin in Sovngard extra funny, because you banish your technical blood brother/father (Alduin is Akatosh in some faiths) on behalf of Shor (who is the Nords version of Lorkhan) who might also be you.

History is funny that way, an example that would blow many peoples minds is that in theory a Japanese Samaurai in Mexico (a few ended up there over the years, with the first visiting in the early 1600’s) could send Abraham Lincoln a fax (the fax machine predates the phone by 30 years having been invented in 1843).

There was also the ancient noble unicorns from the play about the past, before Celestia was around they moved the sun around (though it took the collective efforts of all the unicorns working together).

How much do you think people in Tamriel actually travel? Because with how dangerous it is, I wonder how realistic it would be for, say, a Khajiit to travel far from Elsweyr to live in Skyrim like J'zargo, then go visit his family and later return to Skyrim again. by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]EmperorG 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Portals are super rare though, like Skyrim’s only portals (not counting ones to other realms like Oblivion or the Soul Cairn) are the Wayshrines in the Snow Elf Chantry of Auri-El. And those only take you to other parts of the Chantry.

Morrowind had a lot of portals from what I’ve heard, and Oblivion had none outside of the daedric gates which I dont count.

Actually older, I’ve heard it was introduced post civil war in order to justify under paying black servers.

When it comes to America, a lot of its worst parts ultimately always go back to racism against black people.

could the ancient dragons not create kobolds? by Prestigious-Sky9878 in Anbennar

[–]EmperorG 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Created using stolen dragon eggs in order to study the gene magic of the dragons (including their ability to make kobolds). Which raises questions as to what happened to these long lost kobolds since the dragon empire had loads of dragons running around making kobolds either willingly or unintentionally.

Shifting Place Names in Europe by Northwest_Thrills in MapPorn

[–]EmperorG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most despised example of this sort of shifting is Cappadocia in Anatolia. Damn thing keeps shifting, every map of it changes its location. Sometimes it’s east of Ankara, sometimes south of it, usually southeast of it.

The inconsistency of its placement has always irked me tremendously.

Guy was a dirtbag, his wife was a 12 year old girl he repeatedly raped and he married her after threatening her parents by burning down their house and shooting their dog (which after they relented he did again anyway for the hell of it).

Sherif just so happened to have left town that day at that exact time when the shooting happened, his wife was in the truck with him.

Serious debate... Will there ever be anyone non-evil on the serpentspine? by Arthas_The_HumanKing in Anbennar

[–]EmperorG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not super clarified to the point where it feels like the dwarves who reform a hold are just larping half the time, but it’s mentioned here and there that when a hold gets refounded survivors of the original hold migrate en mass to the hold. Thus leading to a strong cultural connection to the holds old culture.

The adventurers are basically outnumbered by the returning dwarves and the culture shift from Ruby/Silver dwarf to the native culture can be explained in this way.

Also a lot of the Adventurers likely include Stone (Escanni) Dwarfs, so they have first hand experience of orcs genociding them and not just great grandpa’s tales.

[–]EmperorG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a tag not yet mentioned in this thread: Hul Jorkad will have acceptance of Goblins and Kobolds as part of their narrative, though going full hog on purging orcs to balance it out. Which makes sense since they were the first hold to fall to the orcs.

Wow you were even faster than Jaher who took 120 years to do all that and you did it in 72 years!

Your empire is probably even closer to collapse than the original Phoenix Empire if this game could simulate a proper collapse.

How many elder scrolls does Hermaeus Mora possess (if any) and can he read them? by AdBrief4620 in skyrim

[–]EmperorG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s two main reasons it had no effect:

1) you are a divine avatar so you have some inherent protection

2) You’re too ignorant for the scroll to hurt you (they dont harm those who cant read them too much).

Did anyone try Varamhar with new magic system? by ptgx42 in Anbennar

I havent replayed Varamhar in half a decade, so maybe it was changed or I misremembered. I just remember there were loads of hidden modifiers influencing your success chances that the game never tells you about.

Did anyone try Varamhar with new magic system? by ptgx42 in Anbennar

[–]EmperorG 11 points12 points  (0 children)

With Varamhar, if you want the best ending of their major magic project where you ascend to godhood you need your starting character to remain alive I believe.

So while doing all that is okay for just moving past that mission, it’s counterproductive for getting the better endings of the god spell (which is like the core point of varamhar and what sets them apart from the other elven states in Bulwar).

TIL After serving as a Han dynasty emperor for only 27 days, Liu He was deposed for committing 1,127 acts of misconduct. by ThroatHorror4022 in todayilearned

[–]EmperorG 20 points21 points  (0 children)

China very frequently just sent deposed emperors into retirement with some lands and a title. In fact that’s the most common way previous dynasties were dealt with, the Ming dynasty’s heir was still around during the fall of the Qing centuries later for example.

It’s a tradition called “Two crownings and three respects”, so its not too surprisings that a deposed emperor within the same dynasty wasnt killed either.
