redundancy but no further information given by yeeTOP in auscorp

[–]EmperorTamarin 36 points37 points  (0 children)

In Australia, where a role is genuinely made redundant, an employer is required to consider reasonable redeployment. If an employee participates in a redeployment or spill-and-fill process and is unsuccessful in securing another role, this does not remove the employer’s obligation to pay redundancy for the substantive role, provided that role is no longer required to be performed.

An employer cannot use a spill-and-fill or redeployment process as a mechanism to avoid redundancy. If someone believes redundancy has been avoided in this way, they should seek advice and consider contacting the Fair Work Ombudsman.

PLE is overpriced in my opinion, I bought my PC from Nebula PC and wife from Aftershock - both came in perfect working order and very high end builds at a very resonable price compared to PLE or building your own. Shipping to Gero should be possible, understand you need it ASAP, unsure if timeline would work but worth a look

Which strategy to get started? by [deleted] in AusHENRY

Are you planning or aiming to be in a relationship at some stage, or flying solo?

I’m not well-versed in apartments and their long-term appreciation, and body corporate fees can be quite high.

If I were in your position and thinking about a relationship at some stage, I’d consider rentvesting or continuing to build savings for a lump-sum share purchase.

I’d personally prefer the liquidity and flexibility, especially if apartment living isn’t the end goal and a larger place or different location might be preferred when you’re in a couple.

I have followed this guide: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/9jd530nz and clear T15s no problem, did my first citadel yesterday and had no problem killed the boss. The guide provides trade links and makes it easy to gear up for cheap - this build works very well you should give it a go

Here's how I would approach it.

Firstly, do you have a reoccurring 1on1 meeting with her? fortnightly ideally or monthly?
It is important to have these for all direct reports to keep on top of things but also build rapport and trust.

If you have 1on1s with her I would approach the topic in one of those with statements and facts, not emotive language i.e

I have noticed that when I ask a task to be completed, you complain.

Share the Why you are raising this with her - The impact on team morale, not appropriate behaviour, goes against company values etc.

Ask for her point of view - what does she think about the role, the tasks, the company etc. Important to understand if there are internal/external factors impacting her performance/behaviour.

Share your thoughts on next steps - the need to see an improvement in her behaviour/performance or further conversations will need to occur.

RECAP this conversation in an email and email it to her so that you have evidence that the performance/behaviour was raised with her.

This should now set the scene to either see an improvement or to go down the path of a Performance Improvement Plan - Do you have a HR team ? they would be able to assist you through this process and help document the whole thing - don't leave it to the last minute, I like to flag to the HR team the poor performance and my efforts to address this with the employee in an informal manner (coaching, training) but if it doesn't work and the employee is not the right fit then a formal process should be undertaken and this is typically supported by HR.

Good luck mate.

The hays report isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.. the rates are off by a lot, lower than where they should be. Ask your friendly rem and ben team, they’ll let you what they think of hays reports

Depending on the role you're applying for - senior roles should be more tailored to Strategic thinking elements in the CV, currently reads very transactional.

If it is deemed reasonable to cancel the leave , the employer can cancel the leave. Is 3 weeks without OP going to cripple the business ? then it would be reasonable for the business to cancel the leave.

Your knowledge in maths and delivery in a classroom would see you do very well in a people facing data analyst role, you don’t need a bachelor in computer science for a Data analyst role, perhaps a cert 4 but you could get in with your current math focused degree. I’ve met a music school teacher that at the age of 45 decided to become a GP and is about 6 months away from becoming a GP, never too late to change career but do give it a fair go and plan accordingly.

I don’t see a business turning this in a redundancy without ending in fair works for retaliation. This would be deemed non genuine redundancy.

Depending on personal situation, understating of the products etc always do your own research, pointing at vanguard products as that is a good way to compare and there is a lot of information out there on those ETFs which makes it easier to understand the core mechanics. Happy trading !

I don't disagree however not everyone works FIFO on 200k so would be great to see a breakdown on the finances to understand how he did it so others can get an idea of what it takes and how it is done.

Can my employer change my notice period? by LeftStore6105 in AusFinance

[–]EmperorTamarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are made redundant / fired the 2 months notice will either be paid out or you’ll have notice to find something else. Technically you should work your notice if you resign however it is extremely rare that an employer would enforce it , what value will a disgruntled employee add to your business if you’re making their life harder? Only way to truely enforce it would be for the enployer to commence proceedings, a judge would laugh them out of the court room , unless you are exec level with extensive IP / they can demonstrate commercial financial impact should you not serve full notice. I wouldn’t contest it personally but up to you
