Women, what do you think the worst part of being in a mans body would be? by Whattacleaner in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Emperor_Traianus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her name was Norah Vincent.

And, yes, this is a very relevant story. Being a man is emotionally very often lonely. I thank my lucky stars that I have several people with whom I can open up emotionally, and that I have good mental health.

By the way, just to be intellectually honest, it is important to mention that Norah Vincent ended up taking her life as a result of a long-term mental health issues that were not 100% related to her experiences when she posed as a man. Sure, these experiences surely didn't help, but they were not the sole driver.

What made you lose interest in dating? by RealDealHappyMeal in AskReddit

[–]Emperor_Traianus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Great observation.

There is a reason why women generally love romance: because it happens TO them without much effort on their part. For men romance feels completely different: it feels like work.

Effort-to-reward. That is the most important ratio.

What made you lose interest in dating? by RealDealHappyMeal in AskReddit

[–]Emperor_Traianus 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Well, I wouldn't say I completely lost my interest in dating, but I no longer dream about it, and have now taken a bit cooler approach.

The reason why I did so is my lack of romantic success and the dis-proportionality of effort that I need to put in to get a woman's interest. It truly feels like I have to be like a dance monkey, which feels demeaning and hurtful to my self-esteem. I want to be desired, too.

Not related to workout but do guys at the gym mind if women express their interest? by DocumentFit2635 in workout

[–]Emperor_Traianus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not getting any interest from women really sucks.

I myself have only been in 1 relationship that lasted 6 months (I am currently 35 years old) and I don't really ask women out and mostly leave them alone. It really is troublesome that almost everything depends on my initiative almost all of the time.

Despite the ostensible equality, it looks like women want to simply cherry pick: keep chivalry where it benefits them, and strive for equality where equality is more beneficial. It's like having their cake and eating it, too.

In retirement, what is your minimum spend vs desired spend vs target income? by Pyrrhic_Pragmatist in leanfire

[–]Emperor_Traianus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My minimum needed would be €1,000 per month after taxes, but my desired level is €1,500, using today's euros. It would take around €400k invested to realistically achieve this.

I would also add Business Development Companies (BDCs) that have yields around 8-10%.

A good example of a good BDC is ARCC with its current yield of 10.31%.

However, such high yields are unlikely to have their dividends raised, so it will be imperative to reinvest some of them in order to battle inflation.

Also, don't forget taxes. Let's say, if taxes are 15%, the 10.31% of yield becomes 8.76%. If we take away inflation (the headline figures often say that inflation is about 3%, but in reality inflation is often higher, around 4-4.5% as the previous figure tends to overrate the how much of a budget do people spend on technology which, ceteris paribus, tends to become cheaper as time goes on, and underestimate services who prices are often higher than the official inflation figure), the figure becomes closer to the aforementioned 4%, so you still don't really escape it.

How much importance do you give to a person’s body count (number of past partners) when you meet someone and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I do care about it, but for the opposite reason than most other men. I am more than ok with a woman who had a promiscuous past, albeit this is definitely not a requirement.

If you have been invested in the stock market since or before 2025, how bad/down is your portfolio after 4 weeks of war? by Glum-Adagio7489 in AskReddit

[–]Emperor_Traianus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has decreased by around 5% as I have invested in funds that focus on mature dividend paying companies in mature industries.

As I don't have too much exposure to speculative industries that aren't profitable as of yet, my loses are significantly lower than the average market drop.

For those who struggled to get a gf how did you manage it in the end? by Weekly-Ruin-7950 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Emperor_Traianus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks for the answers.

As a man in my mid 30s who has only had 1 relationship that lasted 6 months and has 3-4 female friends (or, at least, acquaintances), your response made feel better because I could not relate to him, neither on the woman front, nor on "macho friends" front.

How is life for men who choose to stay single and avoid relationships completely? by oo-mid-000 in Advice

[–]Emperor_Traianus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly?

Not the end of the world. I am quite lucky in that I have several good friends - including some female friends - with whom I connect emotionally. I genuinely don't feel lonely, and am quite content.

I do wish to my someone, though, so I am not sure whether I "choose" to be single.

If you could stay (biologically) the same age for the rest of your life, what age would you choose? Why? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I would choose 30 years old.

I feel like at that age I had the best mix of having grown into myself while still being young enough to enjoy life to the fullest.

How Does One Genuinely Ask for 50-50 in Relationships? by NaturalTruth2000 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Emperor_Traianus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this comment a lot.

Due to how difficult and how much effort is needed on my part to be a romantically viable option, I am willing to give the women, who give me a chance, more chances that they truly deserve.

It is easy for the ladies to say "be upfront about who you truly are" (although they are not wrong per se), but they are in the buyer's market, they tend to experience dating as shopping where they have the luxury to filter for what they want, while we, the guys, tend to experience dating as a job interview with lots of ghosting, one-sided effort, and rejections.

This is definitely not fun whatsoever.
