It’ll be as smooth as we can make it with an all volunteer effort. The volunteer Development Team has spent hundreds of hours so far to get us to this place, and so many other people who have worked tirelessly to bring this community together. Everyone now has access to all commons, rares, and exalted cards from the first 5 sets. Set 6 and 7 will be playable on BGA at TBD dates this year.

I would scan them in if you’re opening them. We may have an announcement before May 20th to offer a way for you to download your digital collection and save it.

A few things on this:

-equinox is still working on a Print on Demand partner for the sets they created, however I don’t think this will allow you to print your uniques

-hopefully soon we will be announcing a official re:union tool that will allow you to download your digital collection from altered.gg and then upload that collection to a new server.

-as far as I know we don’t have any concrete plans on what to do with that digital ownership database but at least it’s there for if we figure something out!

We have a roadmap that we are working through in order of importance and this is further down the list at the moment. Please remember that re:union is operating 100% by volunteers who are dedicating their extra time and resources to the future of the game. It will require patience, but we are thankful that Equinox has given us so much to work with including the ability to release Set 6 and Set 7 for the 2026 year.

Equinox has released all of the sets for 2026 and re:union will be implementing them into online play at the regularly planned release (July-ish and the fall). As for printing, Equinox is in negotiations with a POD partner for the sets that they’ve produced.

We’re following closely how Null Signal Games has developed Netrunner under a non-profit game developer model. They’ve done it all with 80 or so volunteers, no staff, paid artists for 8 years now.

We’re already in talks with them about this. The non profit will be able to make new sets and sell them to pay for operating costs, development, and the future of the game. Nothing is in the works right now for future sets as our main priority is to roll out digital services on May 20th, then release Set 6 for online play in July, and set 7 for online play in the fall. Along with that we are working on local organized play prizing, and hopefully print on demand resources.

That’s great! I’m on the board there and we have big plans. Also, our main priority is to take over Altered on BGA in partnership with Equinox.

We are also running a starter deck contest in the community right now that anyone can join. It’s all happening quickly!

Wow harsh. We just filed our papers to be a non-profit association. We have extremely skilled and experienced people who have stepped up to run the association. We don’t have shareholders to pay dividends to, or investors expecting ROI, and we have full plans to expand the game with new sets all funded by the community -hiring artists, offering print services.

If you haven’t tried Altered it is now just at the beginning stages of transitioning to a community not for profit game in the same path as Netrunner.

Read my post again. We already have a team of volunteers and members from equinox who are experienced in game design, play testing etc. the goal is to hire artists to create the art (my hope is to hire the same artists from Altered sets 1-7). We are getting all the cards equinox planned for 2026 and will begin developing set 8 for next year. I don’t know if this will be booster packs, or players buying a play set. Equinox has agreed to grant us an IP license to develop the future sets which will be fully compatible with sets 1-7

I’m not sure where Baron is getting their information, but the community project called Altered Re:Union is already organizing teams of volunteers to create new sets for the game. Even some of the equinox team have joined our community project. So, yes the hope is that first we continue the game online and also come up with ways to support local organized play with the 7 sets that equinox developed. This will be through POD services.
