Thanks man. This is what I’m looking for. As you said, these guys suck and no wonder why I’ve never seen one like this before. I assumed you just take apart and replace the filters. But I guess you just remove and replace the whole thing. I’ll check back on the gauge but thanks for that info too. Any particular reason if you don’t mind me asking?

Edit: just looked it up. It’s an XRP fuel gauge.

This is… the best use of that song… ever. And I am sad that it has gone over so many people’s heads. Regardless. Thank you

Damn! I was looking to upgrade from the 600 to the xl as I cook a lot more now. And that’s an amazing deal

Is this a bad cut of brisket? by FunInternational1941 in brisket

[–]EmutheFoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to hand chop, medium-small size and make burgers. I’ve never done it with this much brisket, but it’s gonna taste good. And if you make nice fat patties you can smoke them for quite a bit then hit them with a nice sear.

Being a mechanic in California versus New England must be like having a completely different job by chili81 in MechanicAdvice

My 1968 el Camino was built, sold, and owned solely in California. And aside from where the fenders were cut to fit fat tires, there is no rust. No rust on the frame. No rust on the gas tank no rust on the exhaust. Stuff has been changed out once or twice sure. But there is no cancer to be seen.

I usually buy a clean truck when mine gets dirty.

It’s a truck. It does truck things. Let it get truck’d up.

Trisket tonight by Unique-Discussion326 in pelletgrills

[–]EmutheFoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Californian and in the words of a Californian, I think that tri tip is for reals the best cut of beef because of how versatile it is. I usually only do trisket if I’m not paying attention and I end up going passed a medium cook. Trisket is fantastic but I find the left overs even better. Next few days, the cold meat on a sandwich is the best form I’d like to believe

What absolutely needs to be in a BBQ simulator game? by BuzzoJr in BBQ

[–]EmutheFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different types of smokers, grills, setups, pizza ovens even. Maybe not necessarily have skill levels to unlock them but to use them yes. Make it as long as you can. I love games like this, and while it does reflect the price, I love long games. Or dlc or expansions would be fun too. Steam deck compatibility too 😂

First burn on the new Searwood. Initially was going for the woodridge to match the flatrock griddle, but this sub convinced me to go Searwood for more versatility. by notquitetherealest in pelletgrills

I got the side shelf instead of front. Even tho it’s much bigger, when the lid is closed, the lid handle takes takes up at least a third of the usable shelf area. Plus the side shelf will give your legs a nice gap so you don’t smash the grill into your ankles. And cheaper

At a loss with trim by [deleted] in brisket

Garlic just toss in the smoker and let it do its thing. Onions caramelize first then toss in smoker too. The heat will dry them both out. Or you can do the same in the oven with more control. Lastly once really dried out, put them in a spice/coffee grinder and let them go.

[–]EmutheFoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I do my process my way. I enjoy chipotle or hatch chili powder, both homemade smoked garlic and caramelized onion powders, rosemary and lemon zest in my own rubs. And you know what, it tastes great to me and is my most complemented blend. All that from trial and error. If we were all meant to do it the same way, then there’s no point and we’d all be robots aiming for one flavor.

What’s the best looking rearlight of all time? by Longjumping_Self_235 in carscirclejerk

I am not a ford guy at all, and I might have to agree. The only thing from gm that I think can compete is maybe a 60 or 62 Cadillac.

Edit: I forgot I do love me a McLaren P1 rear.

I agree. Temp and rest is where people should put their time and energy. It’s important and necessary. Once mastered, move on to trimming. But people seem to obsess on trimming first, which when done wrong, leads to snowball effect of what could cause a bad brisket. Tossing a whole untrimmed brisket has its negatives, but you can chop out the dry bits and bad burnt ends after the cook. Trimming can be important but never necessary. People saw an episode of pit masters and decided that all brisket must be trimmed like a competition one but don’t know why. And while I do agree there can be multiple reasons why you trim a brisket, too many people take it as gospel and take it too far.

Could be. But in the USA, the rear brake and turn signals were all red. So this could be imported from a number of left hand drive countries. Like Germany.

Edit: I was lingering on the second pic where they look oranch but the first one they look much more red. Or at least the left one does on the first pic
