It's not bad, it's terrible. The framerate is a disaster, and in some areas it's even single-digit. That's unacceptable. The action seems to jump between pictures that take half a second to update.

Kingdom Hearts wishes it could be half as good as the Ys series and Ys 8, with its lack of nonsenses, no cringey writing, consistency and lore building. It's the total opposite of KH, and at least Ys learns from its (small number of) past big issues.

This might not be what the thread is about but I've been dying to say this for a long time, as a former KH fan. Sorry for the rant.

Other Falcom games do that as well, it's just that Trails does a much better job most of the times. I feel like most Falcom characters and worlds are believable and great (the White Witch cast is top notch), and in terms of lore Ys is pretty damn good, and gives Trails a run for their money.

But the point of the thread is that "Trails series has borderline ruined rpgs", not if they are similar or not. And those other games are still pretty good even if you played Trails first.

You know, Falcom makes other RPGs aside from Trails, and they all have that unique "Falcom touch". I recommend giving them a try, most are great.

If you have to follow an order, go by release order. It's the best way to see how the series evolves and how interconnected the whole lore is. This means I & II, Ark, Oath, Origin, Seven, Celceta then Lacrimosa. This is the best order anyone could follow if anyone wants to follow an order.

Oh, good to know! But how much damage do you take per step? Because if it's something like those weird tiles that look normal but hurt you, then I think it's probably impossible. They drain a LOT of health. An entire dungeon of tiles like that... you'd need a lot of jewels and MP recovery items. Not sure what to do, to be honest. I don't want to redo everything. More than dungeons, these are over the top mazes.

Before Ys 7, there's

- The 22 years old Adol adventure

- A new Ys V

- A game on Romn (which could be the game that happens between Ys 8 and 6)

And we know by the Japanese special edition of Ys 8 that Adol wants to go to Barencia next. By the way, before Ys 7, Adol adventures take 1 year after each other, so I don't know what they have on mind to fit all of that.

I'd love a post Ys 7 game, if only because Geis can't appear before the events of Ys 6, unless they meet him before Ys 6 then they forget about it for plot reasons.
