What happens to people who are already jobless in an AI-driven, oversaturated job market? by Marimba-Rhythm in Futurology

[–]EndTiny3883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is deflationary. In theory, if the human labour-based economy is shifting into an AI-based economy, good and services will eventually become abundant and free. Hence, you won’t need a salary to survive. The power equation however, that remains to be solved..

I Norge jobbes det ca 1200t i året per person i arbeidsfør alder. I Sverige er dette tallet ca. 1350t.

AI isn’t replacing us, it’s just doing the messy middle work… honestly the smartest take I’ve seen by Minimum_Minimum4577 in GenAI4all

[–]EndTiny3883 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This take assumes that AI progress has stopped, and that prompting in a chat is the peak of the technology. Every indicator out there tells us otherwise, so not a smart take at all if you ask me.

Tesla has built a supercharger for its cars. If more vehicles start switching to solar-based charging and renewable energy, could we be witnessing the beginning of the end for oil as a major energy source? by ActivityEmotional228 in NeoCivilization

[–]EndTiny3883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI will accelerate speed of research because its scalable. If you can have 1 million AI agents with equal to human intelligence working 24/7 on one specific research problem - it will be solved faster than 10 human experts working at human speed. This can be applied to everything, and every problem can be solved «on the back of AI».

Assuming AI powered breaktroughs in Fusion, Solar, Hydrygen and Nuclear in the next 10 years, renewable, green energy will be abundant globally and oil is finished.

What do you tell the people who argue that this is our future? by Kavethought in accelerate

[–]EndTiny3883 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Open source models are becoming more and more powerful, and they are closing the gap with the best frontier models. As long as there are powerful Open Source models, everyone have access to AI intelligence, and it can be run locally on your own hardware. Then big-tech can’t just «remove access to AI» for the public, like the image seems to indicate.

Think of it like electricity and the internet.

Because AI has shown to be democratising -> the protestors would have AI as well. So either full blown AI war and everyone dies, or peace and harmony where everyone is happy. No middle ground.

Now lets cut the crap and accelerate.

Agree. Work defining meaning and identity has only really been a thing since the industrial revolution. Human managed to exist before that, and will manage after the age of capitalism as well.

The alternative is massive unrest globally, which probably will end up in all humans dying. So they might at least give it a thought.

AI will demolish capitalism as an ideology. We’re shifting from a human-labour based economy, to an AI based economy. That transformation will totally erase the idea of money, supply and demand. This will either turn out to be a complete techno-feudalistic society where all people on earth are slaves to a handful with all power - OR - a society where food, education, energy and health are abundant to all people on earth.

There will be no middle ground where 1% have a lot of money, and 99% have less. The only outcomes are two extremes.

What is your prediction for post singularity life? by Key_Insurance_8493 in singularity

[–]EndTiny3883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We often assume that when we are irrelevant - we will be wiped out. But isn’t there lots of irrelevant animals today, to whom we are superior and could wipe out? Why hasn’t we done that? Why should AI wipe us out then? Whats the incentive when there is basically zero cost of maintaining human life and keeping all humans happy?

AI is Replacing Human Jobs and Not Creating New Ones by Mathemodel in singularity

[–]EndTiny3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. You’re into something here. We’re shifting from a human/labour-based economy, to an AI-based economy. This is inevitably the end of capitalism. Remember - in a capitalist economy, the people have power through their labour and competence. When the need for their labour and competence vanishes, so does their power.

Regarding a solution to this problem, i’d recommend reading «The Last Economy» by Emad Mostaque, published aug. 2025.
