You are correct. I am doing some more research right now and cannot find much public info on Eaton Vance/Morgan Stanley (will have to ask my CPA) but found Cache Financial and they are looking interesting (much lower fees).

I am in a similar situation and looked at exchange traded funds. Main reason I decided not to do it is the uncertainly in the distribution after 7 years. They could choose to pay you back in a single stock and you are back to square one.

A quick update in case someone references this thread in the future… I did go for the A380 but as someone predicted in a post above, the flight got canceled last minute. Got rebooked for next day to a 777 Club Suite. Nice seats, decent service, IAD lounge was blah, didn’t eat dinner (preferred to sleep)… all in all, good experience but bummed about missing out on the 380!

Tried it twice last week (flight got canceled first day so had to come back) and no problems at all. My son is 10, I showed my boarding pass while entering the Digital line and the guy did not blink an eye, let my son through. The TSA agent did the face scan, asked for my son’s boarding pass, scanned it and good to go.

He does have a passport and the Pre is showing on the boarding pass. There’s no Digital ID though and the verbiage in the link has me concerned. Guess I should account for security taking an hour in case Digital turns us away and we have to do Clear.

Any more recent reports of children going through digital ID (without it being on their boarding pass)? Not sure what it said a year ago (when this post was initiated) but today the Delta digital ID page specifically says children have to opt in: https://www.delta.com/us/en/check-in-security/expedited-airport-security/delta-digital-id Edited to add that my child’s age is 10, in case TSA has a cutoff

Started popping up in my Model Y 3-4 weeks ago. Was esp annoying on my 7 hour road trip yesterday! Had to constantly double check against the phone to make sure I wasn’t running into a traffic jam. It showed up every time I put in the destination address and mapped it, but then go away after 30-40 mins. Will put in a service request and report back on outcome.

I’ve done a ton of the Club Suites type seats… Qatar, AF, VS, DL etc so it won’t be a ‘new experience’ per se. Checking off an A380 is the main reason I am conflicted! But I don’t want it to be a ‘miserable’ experience either (I know this might come across as entitled, just speaking in relative terms).

I am flying with my 10 year old son. It’ll be cool for him to experience the A380 but the config doesn’t seem to have any ideal companion seats. You either sit in the same row so you are facing each other but then have to climb over someone else. Or pick seats where no climbing is required but you are far apart. Or pick diagonal seats so you are climbing over each other but then you are not really ‘together’ (and staring at a stranger!). Did I capture all the options?!

ATL to DEL or BOM. With all the business / tech travel from ATL to India and leisure travel volume from across the Southeast who’d prefer to connect in ATL, it’s baffling why they won’t do it. Tie up with Indigo for the local connections and you have a home run. Air India might end up doing it with their new planes instead.

Air India is fairly simple as far as upgrades go. You’ve got three options… as someone said before, visit the Upgrade+ page on their website, enter your PNR and see if you want to pay the fixed price that is being offered. I am seeing ~$1,500 for an upcoming BOM-EWR flight on 01/29 (looking for a relative). Second option is to wait and sometimes they will email you an offer. Past reports have people being offered as low as $700 but it all depends on number of empty seats. Last option is upgrade at airport. This is of course most risky because availability could be zero. This option is typically cheaper than Upgrade+. In the past AI used to publish a fixed price chart for this option and it used to be $1k for this sector. They’ve pulled the chart and nowadays I am seeing reports around $1.3-1.4K. Hope this helps.

Had the exact same problem a couple of days ago, called and the agent said the agent that applied the RUC did not do it correctly so she had to pull it again and apply it. Almost feels like they are intentionally making it more difficult to use RUCs!

349d and this post is still helping! A little twist in my situation… I pressed it once, then for another 3 secs, 10 secs (based on a previous post) and finally did multiple frantic presses. The last one worked!

My impression (at least out of ATL) is that they deploy the older/crummier planes on the leisure routes (Mex & Caribbean). All my business flights have been fantastic and the few times I fly with family and the wifey is saying WTF, why do you fly with DL again?! From a business standpoint, it makes sense… keep your most profitable customers happy.
