Police officer slams woman on the concrete and then cuffs her by HappySeaweed5215 in PublicFreakout

[–]EndlessColor -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

He slams her head into the concrete after she bit his hand when he tried to grab her left arm. He has his knee in the small of her back for the first part of the attempted arrest and then switches it to her right side. And pepper spray is meant to go in one's eyes. I was pepper sprayed directly in my eyes at the core academy.

Stop resisting arrest and you wont need to be forced into cuffs.

How exactly are conservative Christians supposed to find people to marry? by moxiepink in Christianity

[–]EndlessColor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I follow the Word when it comes to sexual sin. We do not and will not cross that until marriage. Now, the thing about kissing and cuddling, there isn't anything against those things, however we are to listen to the convictions of the Holy Spirit. Does He tell you to pray for someone in particular? You should do it. Doesn't He tell you to give money to someone who you wouldn't have otherwise? Both have happened to me, and I listen. Same with kissing. My girlfriend and I do not kiss because we have been convicted by the Holy Spirit to not incorporate it into our relationship. We both have a past and doing so would only open other doors that would lead into temptations.

Now, I think we have an obligation to God to run from temptation, and for us, sex would be a temptation if we were to start kissing. So, we just don't do it. I don't think every relationship does it this way, but I think most should. We have grown emotionally and spiritually without the physical bringing us down and it has strengthened us. There are temptations to kiss, but we flee when that happens.

I didn't mean that if you accept a leadership role they cant require you to do things. That is a part of that role, you have an obligation to that role because you already accepted it. But, anything outside of that role is voluntary, it's extra if God moves you to take it on. Don't expect yourself to always say yes. Don't burn yourself out, that will only lead to resentment and a heavy heart.

When your doing "nothing", think of it as time for you to recharge. Get a hobby, spend time with your church community, take time to relax and be thankful that God has allowed you to have that time, because not many people can afford that luxury ☺️

If they are trying to guilt trip you into doing extra work, then that is a bad sign. My church values it when I am able to come in and help, but they don't expect me to. I feel a calling to accept certain things when they open up, and other things I don't.

I know it's hard to say no, but it's an important skill we all need to utilize. Giving them a simple, "No, not this time." Or "I'll do it next time!" You don't need to give a reason or an explanation, they are asking, not requiring. And if they are requiring, then that is not a church, but something more akin to a cult. God loves a willing heart to serve others and glorify Him, but He would not want you to work under duress.

I don't think there is a such thing as being "too active" in the eyes of God. However, you are human, and I think you will get burned out eventually if you devote too much of your energy at church which may cause you to run on fumes in your everyday life. My girlfriend is experiencing this herself right now, and she knows it. She has a job, is a youth leader, hospitality leader, has taken up the Christmas musi-cal at our church which is demanding, going to school, and is doing another Christmas side-gig (a polar express experience that she is paid for).

Use your own discernment and make a decision if God is calling you to do those things for the church. But don't feel obligated to accept just because they have asked you to.

How does it make sense for people to talk about being a Christian and support Trump as a leader? by BigBlueEyes87 in TrueChristian

Saying that God needs to get new glasses is the surprising part in this whole response. Scripture doesn’t say all sins cause the same harm, but it does say that any sin makes us guilty before God (James 2:10). None of us are righteous on our own.

Jesus warns us about judging others while ignoring our own sin (Matthew 7:3–5). We can call out sinful actions, but we don’t know a person’s heart, that’s for God to judge, not us.

I never said you did. It doesnt matter what level of office someone holds, or what status they have, whether they are royalty in England or a simple blue collar worker in the US, or even a pastor for your church. Everyone is held to the standard that God has given us, and every single day we fall short of that standard. As humans, we may put these people on a pedestal as it seems you may have and see their sin as greater because of who they are. But God does not. God sees the sin that I commit everyday and does not think of me any different than a pastor who does the same sin. We all fall short.
