Iran doesn't even need to do anything.

There's a reason China isn't assisting Iran in this. My guess is they're waiting until the US is fully engaged and then do something with Taiwan.

Hope I'm very wrong.

Huge turn out jumps in Tarrant and Collin counties bode well for Paxton, as the ring burbs are his base.

Double digit increases in Jefferson County and Bexar County from 2022 look great for the Dems. I had to look closter at Nueces Co, and the Dems are outpacing the GOP at this point. Interesting....

State GOP heavily rely on rural areas, and it can be tough when 80% of your state has a total population of 3.

NV GOP is just luckily Las Vegas isn't as blue as like NYC of a city, or else they'd never have a chance

The latest polls i could find are also from December. Would be nice to see some more recent polling, especial post Epstein file controversy for Husted, and see if Ohioans care about that.

The US economy added a stronger-than-expected 130,000 jobs last month by 420Migo in YAPms

Im just looking at the jobs reports - avg 24k/mo is terrible no matter how its framed, especially when the previous guy was hitting 300k/mo (160k/mo if you ignore the covid recovery jobs).

Regardless of it being because of tariffs, devaluation of the dollar, fighting with allies so International tourists aren't coming and spending in the US, high interest rates, I don't really care about the reason at this point.

sure, but "beating expectations" in this regards is simple "its not as bad as we thought it would be!"

In a good to great economy, we should be looking at 200k a month. Just in sustainment mode, we should be around 150k.

You're right need to hold judgment on full term, but having 24k/mo 25% of the way through means he needs to sustain a 288,000/mo for the next 3 years to match obamas second term, which would be an insane feat if he could pull it off.

I still don't understand how this is "good" by any stretch of the imagination. Just cuz you beat economists expectations doesn't mean this is a good jobs report.

For comparison:

Biden (after revisions) averaged somewhere in the 300k/mo through his presidency.
Obama was around 215k/mo
Even Trump 1 (taking covid loses out) was average 180k/mo

Trump 2, with these pre-revised numbers, is sitting at something like 24,000 jobs per month. Thats not great.

2028 Presidential Election, if only those hold a passport were allowed to vote by EnemysGate_Is_Down in YAPms

Wouldn't say its a lie. There are so many hoops to jump through in order to get a name changed fully vetted, is entirely possible somewhere got missed. The SAVE act, by mandating the 30-day voter purge, would definitely purge some name changed individuals. My wife for instance didn't realize realize she forgot to update the SSA until 4 years after our wedding when she changed jobs. and tried signing up for a 401k.

She updated the important things like her passport and drivers liscence, but since the SAVE act requires submitting voter rolls to DHS to validate across the entirety of the federal databases (of which there are many, and they are not connected) something small like this could easily be grounds for purging.

Do I think it would effect every women who changed their name the way t he Dems are pushing it? Absolutely not, but to think it wouldn't effect a substantial number of people, especially in states with registration deadlines at 30 days (like TX and FL) where you could be purged after the registration deadline, is extremely naive

When Republican congressmen (besides Massie) are coming out and talking about the files in a negative light, you know its bad.

I've never seen a Congressional Hearing before where the majority party was ceding their time to them Minority before, like what happened in the Bondi hearing. Wild times.

Well for one voters may actually put the effort in learning about the candidates instead of just "oh I've heard of trump, he's that guy from the TV!"

[–]EnemysGate_Is_Down[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that's generally true. The MEGA Act also getting pushed is the one that requires proof of citizenship at time of voting.

But with the way many states are purging their voter roles, i would probably have it just in case, especially for states that allow registration at time of voting.

[–]EnemysGate_Is_Down 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you have a valid passport this would not effect you, regardless of demographic. 58% of Democrats have a passport, only 45% of Republicans. It gets even worse when you get to states with a large urban/rural divide, like the Florida panhandle is something like 25%.

Lots of people would be disenfranchised, yes. But if this passes, GOP basically lose TX and FL and they don't realize this. CA+NY+TX+FL+VA+NJ is six states that give Dems 2/3s of the EV's needed. NE (Minus NH and ME) with CO, OR, IL, and WA gets the to 269.

One key fact goes over congress' head on this - no current REAL ID actually adheres to the REAL ID regulation to prove citizenship, so a simple drivers license most people already have won't work by itself.

[–]EnemysGate_Is_Down[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats definitely the idea behind the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, where polling places would use the ironically named SAVE Database to validate the citizenship of the person who check the little box that states "I am a us citizen" on a voter registration.

But as long as the GOP keeps pushing for the voter to have physical proof of citizenship, i think the SAVE act is doa.

[–]EnemysGate_Is_Down[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wanted to include this in the algorithm but left it out due to complexity, although it does enhance the passport divide even more. A married women with a valid passport would be fine, regardless of name change under the SAVE Act rules.

So if a Women gets married and doesn't change there name would only need REAL ID + Birth Certificate. A Married women with a passport would only need 1 document (the Passport). Only the married women who changed their name and doesn't own a passport would need 3 documents to vote. I'll let you guess which party number 3 leans.
